Problem with new ENB

Hello, I switched to a new ENB and it didn't go well...

I uninstalled my old ENB (RealVision) as instructed and installed the new one (Snapdragon) according to instructions.

Now, when I start a new game, I get this sight at Abandoned Prison. Only floating eyes show of my character and a shadow of torch flame. No interiors, just darkness and the sky above.

After quitting to desktop and reloading the save, things improve. But not enough. Inside, some textures are missing and both the PC and NPCs are always kind of out of focus, while everything else is sharp. Eyes are also weird. Some of the textures appear after PC starts moving.

Outside, things improve even more. But the PC and many NPCs still remain fuzzy, at least face and skin, while the clothes are better.

My computer should be fast enough to handle a high-end ENB like Snapdragon. I'm quite a noob in these techincal matters and am obviously missing something. All advice is welcome!

Hm, did you read this:

"You can toggle individual effects (like the DoF) on and off on the left side of the GUI in the [EFFECT] section.
You can adjust the Depth of Field in the shaders window. The DoF is labeled as "enbprepass.fx".
Adjust the focal point, near/far blur curve and bokeh radius depending on your picture/screenshot setup.
Furthermore, "enbeffect.fx" is interesting if you want to adjust vibrance, contrast and black/white values.
"effect.txt" will allow you to adjust grain (enabled by default) as well as sharpening."

It's under "tips and usage" on the snapdragon nexus page. The camera focus following the centre view is called "depth of field" effect, as far as I know. So, this might be the first thing you can check for right configuration.

Thanks, will try this out. Like I said, I'm pretty nooby in this technical stuff :shy:

I had something similar happen to me.  It wasn't because I was installing ENBs, but because I was messing around with my Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini.  Textures were disappearing and then reappearing exactly like in your picture.

Lucky for me I save backup copies of my .ini files and I replaced them with one I made a month ago and that fixed it.

If you don't have any backup .ini's made, cut & paste your current .ini's into a new folder (to save it, of course) and restart the skyrimlauncher.exe to rebuild fresh .ini's.  See if that works.  Again, make sure you save your current .ini's just in case.

That'a always a good idea.

And, in sake of the thread starter; I'd suggest to go for a new ini setting (skyrim & prefs). Got me a new one cause there is one in this ENB. All the problems I had with my previous setup (mainly stability issues) were fixed through a new ini setup.

If you can't good solution for yourself, try the ini files from vividian enb. Might even try the mod itself. Different from Snapdragon, but the installation guide and the supported mods included do make quite a nice setup. Just a thought, of course. I always find it better to make progress, even if it's in a direction I didn't intent to happen... so to say. :)

Thanks, that did the trick! The game looks gorgeous now!

I have some issues when outside and need to tweak the inis (will be more careful this time :shy: ), but I'm confident the worst is over. Once I have more time to test and tweak, I'll report back if any issues show up I can't deal with myself.

Great job!

BTW, I found out that the problem was caused by setting bFloatPointRenderTarget to 1 in skyrimprefs.ini as demanded by Snapdragon ENB.

When I leave it at 0, the game bitches about it in red text at the upper screen corner, but otherwise looks and works great.

Resolved the remaining problems simply by turning the Depth of Field off.

Thanks to everybody who answered!
