KWSV (Kinky World Sunset Valley) FULL [WIP] (Updated 24July17)

Recommended Posts

UPDATE:

Added Standard (non Route-Fixed) version of KWSV to Post #3

NOTE: Initial posting info is still incomplete. My monthly session with the medtechs yesterday has left me a bit drained. I'll be updating the info over the next day or so, and adding some things to the reserved posts, like supplemental population. (saved sims)

BIG THANKS are due to applesnraisins for stepping up when a tester was needed. Without outside confirmation after the glitch that appeared on first launch, this project may well have died.

See Post #3 for supplemental population.

KWSV is a rebuild project to make the base town for Sims 3 a better place for Kinky World (and in general).
This thread is for the integrated SaveGame and Population files. Individual Lots for customizing your own towns can be found here. There is also a discussion thread located here.

Design Priorities
No Kids - Babies, Toddlers, Children, and Pregnancies have been eliminated from game start-up.
Rabbithole Waste - Huge tracts of land are wasted with Rabbithole Locations. Where viable, combine rabbitholes with other functions and usable space.
Access - give Sims access to skill building and entertainment objects. give Sims easy access to beds for spontaneous sexual encounters (Not that beds are needed) and for street living. (This tucks nicely into picking up the Rabbithole Waste, too)
Dark Times - The town has gone downhill. Old established families like the Landgraabs and the Goths have abandoned the town for brighter horizons. The biggest money in town these days is in organized crime, and the population seems to have followed suit. This is not a town of 'good people' - rape, exhibition, and just plain loving to fuck are fairly common traits. Incest isn't rare. More than a few are flat-out evil. (All citizens have at least one KW trait)

CHANGES
Community Lots:
City Hall - Now construction zone for new Civic Center. (Currently abandoned. Eventually, a tomb discovered?)
Police Station - Now "Temporary" Civic Center, combining City Hall, Police and Military functions.
Little Corsican Bistro - Replaced with The Gilded Gator Hotel. (Venue must be activated/registered with Kinky World to funciton) New Bistro located at Old Pier Beach
Mirabello Plaza - Added Arcade and expanded Theatre to include public Big TV viewing room, snack bar, and hook-up areas. (Future site of underground club)
Le Petit Shark Pool Center - Added underground pool hall sharing glass wall with swimming pool. Expanded UniSex bath/shower.
Sunset Institute of Modern Art - Added 1st floor Art Exploration center
Sacred Spleen Memorial Hospital - No Change as yet.
Cmmunity School for the Gifted - Replaced with KWSV High School (Venue must be activated/registered with Kinky World to funciton)
Cerulean Blue Pool - Now the Working Girls' Party Pool.
Hogan's Deep Fried Diner - No Change as yet.
Sharma Day Spa - No Change as yet.
Doo Peas Corporate Tower - No Change as yet.
28 Hour Wellness Gym - Added Eastern Work-Out Room and outdoor Relaxation Station.
Central Park - No Change - reserved for users of Seasons to be able to use that park.
Papyrus Memorial Library - Added 3rd floor music room.
Outstanding Citizens Corporation Warehouse - Now western themed dive bar, The Hole In The Wall
Old Pier Beach - Added new Oasis Bistro.
Fort Gnome Military Base - Added major venue for Showtime, the Blast-Off Arena. (Generic EA Venue)
Landgraab Industries Science Institute - Added Science Exploration zone.
Pleasant Rest Graveyard - No Change as yet.
Llama Memorial Stadium - No Change as yet.
Stony Falls - No Change as yet.
Summer Hills Springs - No Change as yet.
Crystal Springs - Added minor campground
Beauty & Tattoo Parlor - Incorporated into The Dancing Dino neighborhood hangout, bowling, pool, golf, gnubb, video games, & more. (Upper level dance club currently stripped down to just snack bar)
Equestrian Center - No Change as yet.
All Clubs & Park added by Showtime unchanged in this version. (That's my exploration/creation playground zone - it would have delayed release for ages to include them)

Homes:

From the Sunset Valley Homes brochure-
"You might see one of our billboards around town - like the one with the wistful, naked raven-haired girl on the waterfront that proclaims "Beautiful Living", or the one with the naked inter-racial couple coupling that encourages "Live In Racial Harmony". SVH has proven to be highly popular with the locals, customizing homes and crafting new residences with an eye toward exhibitionist living. Some have even gone as far as removing toilets from the home to encourage/force exposure when the need arises. It may have surprised our design team when this proved popular in some circles, but they gladly ran with it. Saving money on plumbing helps pay for all those big windows...
Interiors offer open space designs, frequently with only one enclosed room - the bedroom - to allow quiet slumber. In addition to the free & open feeling of these homes, they offer the advantage of a single stereo supplying music to the everywhere except the quiet bedroom.
Another popular feature in many SVH residences is pet-proofed trash. Fenced corals or off ground storage for your garbage that keeps pests out.

Visit our showrooms today and learn why Sunset Valley Homes is now the ONLY name in Sunset Valley homes!"

They handle most of the remodeled and newly built homes, so that should give you an idea of what to expect. In addition to ensuring that Tom & other peepers (and passers by) have good visual access, homes usually makes sure there's necessary interior space for exhibitionists to tease & please.

Most homes have had at least some remodeling, many have been altered to suit their current resident(s). A few have undergone major reconstruction, and some are all new builds tailored to specific individuals - a couple of which are not even really homes at all (a beach lean-to and a foliaged berm for sleeping bad hidden from view)

At current, there are very few options for a new sim to buy a home. The next release will be sure to have a few unoccupied pre-built homes at affordable cost. The current focus was on filling the town with playable and supporting characters. (See next section)

Population:
The active, home-owning population is all new. Old characters still show up when the system uses them, but they don't live here any more. If using the All-Female or All-Male version of KWSV, the same holds true to NPCs used by the system and/or various mods. (Manually correctable using the Edit Sim testing cheat)
Current population count is 68 Sims (Gender Division: 34/34), 2 dogs, and 1 horse. Supernatural population consists of 4 Vampires, 3 Werewolves, at least 3 Witches, and 1 Faerie. The vast majority are Young Adult, with 10-12 Teens, a few Adults, and only 1 or 2 Elders.
The new population is not a healthy or balanced population. (Nor currently are they balanced in the game structure sense, not just mentally/emotionally) A majority of the population are Exhibitionists. You'll see this not only in the amount of flesh they're often willing to display, but also in the often attention seeking clothing many may wear.
Many Sim's biographies give indications of ways to play the character, and some have explicit challenges [indicated by brackets].
There are a some experimental situations to play around with, and no clue how they'll work out. Probably the best example is the Duplex Doppelgangers household. Jeff Peterson and Pete Jefferson are identical physically, diametric opposites mentally/emotionally. They share a lot that's built as a duplex apartment sharing one building. Could be fun to play, could be a complete disaster.
On that note, let me point out that the population of the town will evolve & change over time. New Sims will come in to replace others that aren't working well, or are just stale. (See FEEDBACK for more info)

FAQ
Why is everybody barefoot most of the time?
Why do old residents who don't live here appear?

REQUIREMENTS

Oniki's Kinky World
Rather obvious, but let's try to be complete, eh? All of Kinky World's requirements, too, of course. And it's highly recommended to install all the base animations refered to on the KW download page by Amra72, Mike24 and Lady666 as well as their support files as those objects are used here as well. (Notably the bondage props recommended by Amra72)

Cyclonsue's great works are used by many or most of the lots in town. To keep things simple, KWSV uses material from the same 4 Bridge Lane mods that Jolie Rouge uses for Fleabottom:

These Lots are Essential. While many things affect only look & feel, not having these properly installed can make some areas impassable or inaccessible.
Bridge Lane Depot
Bridge Lane Halt
Bridge Lane Junction
Bridge Lane Station

RabbitHole Doors/Rugs by Jynx

These are used to replace the default rabbithole buildings. If you do not already have these, you may either grab all the rugs & doors bundled together. (Thanks, J.R.!) or the smaller bundle with only the doors currently used in KWSV.
If you haven't used them before, click on the door of the building (or rug, in the case of the Oasis Bistro (there is no door)) to access the usual rabbithole options.

All Rabbitholes: all_Rabbitrugs_doors.7z

KWSV only RabbitHoles: KWSV_RabbitHoles.7z

The Exotic Pole by Puss 'N Heels
Adds Pole giving players the option to have their sim dance (and strip), or request other sims to do so.
To function as described above, two other packages are required, but the links were dead, so they're bundled together for you here:

AnimatedPoledancing.7z

 Exotic Dancer's Stage by Misukisu
Adds NPC sim dancer/stripper to clubs.

Glory Hole Gate by Lady Moiraine
As suggested by Amra72 to accompany the KW Animations package. So you probably have it already anyway, but this note is to be sure.

 Yoga Rug by Kitabalibar
If you don't use it, a generic rug should appear instead. No biggie. Pretend it's a wrestling mat.

Sims 3 Decor - Wall Art
KWSV lots frequently make use of my custom poster/painting/billboards. These are not hard requirement files, but you'll wind up with some items possibly looking odd.

Sets Used:
Whorehouse Paintings, Dreaming, Dorm Room Posters,

KWSV Decorations Pack
Includes KWSV Billboards, High School Decorations, Pool Mosaics and various custom/modified items.

CLOTHING:

Custom content used in KWSV wardrobe.

The great majority of female clothing comes from Lorandia, and the Lorandia Sims 3 clothing collection is highly recommended for Kinky World play.

Here are the Lorandia clothing items currently in my library while working on the town for which the links have been found:

This is NOT all of the Lorandia items in my current set-up. There are at least a half dozen more for which the links have not been found. However, that most likely means they were not actually used and were therefor unfamiliar to me when scanning through the online library item by item to compile that list. In later revisions, we'll have a more controlled wardrobe. For now, cross you finger, but not your thighs.

While Lorandia provides the majority of the custom clothing used here, there are others:

 Still  Missing

For a limited time, here are the other sims3pack & package files in my current working library for which links have yet to be found. An unfortunate side effect of being on a new system after the recent power troubles is that all my old links were lost. It may surprise you to learn that can make searches considerably more difficult in some cases. On the plus side, the search has led to several new clothing items to be incorporated into later revisions. (Still looking for more good sexy clothes and better swimwear for males - hint! hint!) Meanwhile, for you early adopters, here's my 'missing links' for the wardrobe:

UNCLOTHING
It is presumed that you are already using Cmar's varied forms of genetalia as per KW needs & desires. KWSV also makes extensive use of  Cmar's Nouveau Nudes for individual topless/bottomless outfits.

Nouveau Nudists

INSTALLATION
Simply unpack the archive into your Saves folder, or move the archived folder there after extraction. Be Aware that the game was saved on 15July, so you may likely have more recent save games on your system. The loader sorts saves chronologically, so you'll have to scroll back to the KWSV labelled save. I believe you can bypass this and make it the newest item on the list simply by creating a new folder in your save directory with the name you choose, and then transferring the unpacked files into that new folder. I've never tested this, but i believe the system sorts by the directory date, not the file date. (Confirmation? Disputation?)

NOTE: The current upload (and all versions with RF in the name) is built on the Route-Fixed version of Sunset Valley. Does anybody else NOT use the Route-Fixed version? So far, none have come to my attention. While it's my understanding that the RF version can be played with the Standard version of Sunset Valley, a Standard based version of KWSV is being prepared, and it will be uploaded if there's any interest.

ACTIVATION
Because the Save file has never been in Live Play mode, it should be suitable for any version of Kinky World.
This means, however, that you must manually activate the hotel and the high school if you wish to use those KW functions. (If you do not activate the high school, it will operate as a standard rabbit hole school, but give you access to the extra facilities.)
Bondage Frame & Stockade (Working Girls bondage rooms, among other locations) must be set to Naked if you wish Sims to shed all clothing when bound in them. You may also choose to limit which sex uses these items. These can only be set in Live Play mode, so the remain in default settings.
Erotic Dancer Stage (The Hole In The Wall) should be set with outfits & show times, but you may wish to check the tuning menu to be sure.
A few households have special settings for story value that are

STANDARD version of KWSV

Whatsit?

The same town as in the first post, but built on the Standard version of Sunset Valley rather than the Route-Fixed version.

Disadvantages:

No Route-fixing, leading to long term glitches & slow-downs that accumulate and build over time.

Massive bloating. The file is more than twice the size of the standard version. Our tester, applesnraisins, reports that a Save Game Cleaner will fix this issue, and the next release will be pre-scrubbed to fix this. It's recommended to run the cleaner if you have it.

Advantages:

No Lot-'fixing', aligning lots better to the sidewalk, while sometimes causing increased shearing effect on other edges of the lot. And somehow inserting a waterway between the sidewalk and lot in one case. (causing the gap to be crossed by boataxi or long submerged walk)

No outdated population. In the Route-fixed version you'll find plenty of the original residents running around town, even though they don't live here any more. This seems to be due to having been live previously during the route-fixing.

Supplemental/Overflow Population

Whatsit?

Extra Sims to fill out or customize the population of KWSV (or wherever) to better suit your personal tastes, and to offer a rotating population to keep things fresh over time.

Sims posted here may (probably DO) use clothing items listed in the main post above.

Batch The First

10 Sims. These pipples:

post-771484-0-17731000-1500419580_thumb.jpg

I'll go into more detail on the individuals later. You'll have to struggle by with only that chart for reference until then.

Why are there two Science Witches, Female & Male editions?

Well, that's because they're my testplay sim(s) for the All-Male and All-Female versions of KWSV. They'll be following along shortly. Currently population density on both is around 67-75%. Much of the town's population has been gender translated, but there's a  mix of new sims in each town, too. Also, a few sims that were cut from the main version moved to the gender specific versions, like the Phillips twins.

Another couple days...

Most of this initial release do not have bios. Some do, not many. That will change, but not today.

Is The Hole in the Wall supposed to some kind of secret place?  In Town View it only displays the Criminal Hideout rabbit hole icon and no option for visit.  I can direct a sim to the lot but the only way to enter is for the sim to automatically saunter into the building.  However in Edit Town mode the lot is displayed correctly as The Hole.

I have never played Sunset Valley other than looking at it but I think the new version has much more character.  It doesn't feel very fallen/evil/dark though, at least not like Fleabottom or Nightmare Valley.  Maybe it's because I am playing without KW installed yet (I do have all the other prerequisites)?

EDIT: The door to the Working Girls Party Pool house is locked (not the lot, the building).  Is that because I don't have KW?

EDIT2: May I suggest in the lot descriptions to have the new lots in bold instead of the old one?  This way it's easier to see the lots that are in the world instead of those aren't.

Nope -   definitely not secret. That billboard with the dancing girls over by the bookstore is for The Hole In The Wall.

That annoying bit with The Hole In The Wall is part of how the system handles the RabbitHole doors & rugs. The Sims map uses those markers to override the lot settings, assuming that the rabbithole IS the lot, since that's how the base game does it. If you click close by while you have the magnifying glass icon to zoom in, then you should be able to click on the building itself and get the visit/travel options. Or, if the bar is closed, you should be told to come back after 11 when they're open. (I think they open at 11)

Yeah - things don't look as dark on the surface as they did at one point. There's a lot more money flooding the town these days from the active crime & vice operations, as well as places for them to spend their money. The City government is pretty much a token carry-on operation with no new works happening.

A lot of the visual elements got lost when it became apparent that the built in world editor totally woohoos the game when used. Jolie Rouge has put in the time to learn the create-a-world tools and is doing things right in Fleabottom, while i'm more half-assing it here with the limited options available using just the Town editor. Maybe someday a custom built world will be in the offing, but this is where my play has been recently.

The Working Girls Party Pool is a public pool/club, but the Working Girls is a private household (at least until a functioning whorehouse option is good to go, then it'll get converted). So you need to get invited like any other house.

Good Point on the bold facing in the listing. That's how it was done for the LOTS thread. I have no idea why it was reversed for this one, other than the previously mentioned frazzled brain when trying to get things done yesterday.

Slowly recovering, and will start updating the info and implementing your suggestion later today.

Now caffeine...

EDIT: Lost track up there. Not just tired/wiped out. Sick. Back in a day or two.

That gate was part of an experiment that never played out. I'll remove it.

You can do so during game play using the testing cheats:

Open the console by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C

(the screen will dim and a text box appears at the top row)

enter the following:

testingcheatsenabled true

now press the SHIFT key and click on the gate. Choose OBJECT > DELETE IT to make it disappear

when you're done, turn the testing cheats off the same way you  turned them on, but change the switch from true to false

Hi, thanks so much for doing this. It is very appreciated. I have a few questions:

1) On the opening page you mention all male and all female versions but I can't find a download for such. Are these files gone?

2) I can register the school fine with Oniki but I'm wondering if I need to set it to 'academy' or 'visitors allowed' in the edit town men?

3) The civic centre isn't functioning as a townhall. Various job functions don't show up and NRAAS doesn't recognize it as a City Hall. When I add a City Hall, all the functions show up on it. Unfortunately I didn't see any setting in edit town to designate a building as City Hall nor a combination building i.e.City Hall, Police Station and Military. How do you flag a building as a City Hall?

My apologies for the abrupt disappearance - both computers and the organic interface unit all suffered system failures. Scrounged replacement for this unit and have partially rebuilt the main system. Biological unit still for crap, and the main system is hosting a mystery -
Anybody have a clue what could make a computer power-down during boot-up? I thought that was an incidental problem with the old power supply, but it's still occurring at times with the new unit (750W power supply replaced old insufficient 350W to accommodate new video (4GB Video RAM - oh, boy) so seriously doubt it's the power supply)

Of course, Sims 3 doesn't recognize the new card and the graphics are frelled at the moment, but i believe i have a line on how to manually teach the game to use the new card. Now if i can just find the same sort of info for Poser 7...

Context: I built my first computer system almost 40 years ago. The first thing i did with it was create a program to generate population for my D&D towns, and it's been games ever since. I just went 6 weeks with NO games at all. I may never be quite the same.

Anyway - both machines are up and running (when they'll boot) and i'm semi-functional, so trying to get back to work. It'll be slow at first, but i am here.

Do I really need to download all Lorandia’s clothes separately?

I really dislike grabbing all the clothes individually, but i don't want to screw over Lorandia. I made the visual reference charts so people could choose what they wanted, but haven't thought of a better option. Suggestions?

1> The All-Female and All-Male versions of town were both about 85% populated with about a day to go on each when the systems turned evil on me. They'll be the first thing i'm focusing on as i return to work.
2> I tend to use the Visitors Allowed setting to encourage late encounters, but the school should function properly with the default No visitors setting. (Note - that was without the rabbithole door on the school. The addition of that door may make afterhours encounters impossible)
3> The Civic Center SHOULD provide all City Hall functions since it uses EAs Civic Center scripts. What options are not showing for you? Are they base game options, or added functions from external mods?
That's the kind of disfunction that could make me redesign with three separate doors to see how that works instead.

So...why ARE most of the residents barefoot?

LOL. Right. Forgot things died while the main page editing was waiting to happen.
People are barefoot for a combination of reasons. The first big one is that Sims tend to not remove their shoes when getting naked for sex, and it looks very awkward to me. Then there's the comfort factor, which is to say - they take after me. Not to long back we worked out the math, and on average - i wear shoes for less than a dozen hours a month. I'm the kind of weirdo who owned multiple tuxes but had to rent shoes, so my  world is a bit askew to reflect that.

Anyway - still sorting out hardware/software glitches and going to do a bit of binge gaming for purely medical reasons, then back to work on KWSV.

I had this happening to me a couple months ago shortly after I had upgraded my video card.  Turned out, I had forgotten to put a screw on the dust cover in the slot directly above the video card, and the dust cover had dropped onto the video card and shorted out a couple connections.  Since you salvaged parts from two systems to rebuild one, I suggest checking all boards to ensure that no loose metallic parts are shorting anything.  Also check the cables to ensure nothing is frayed anywhere.  Also, verify the cable pin configurations for the front panel buttons and activity lights, having one of those swapped the wrong way could cause power on issues.

I don't know if this problem existed previously as I didn't test with a teen, but I've been testing the latest (367) build of OKW and I've found three issues:

1.  There is a new nurse function for KW high schools to recruit a nurse.  I solved this myself by splitting the music room into two rooms, and threw a desk, chair, and a bed in the smaller of the rooms.
2.  The build doesn't seem to recognize the prom area.  I suspect it's due to how you designed the prom area as an open-air environment.  I'll try enclosing it with a wall and extend the rood over it to see if that works.

3.  I haven't figured out how to turn the Working Girls home into a brothel.  When I go through the kinkymod menu, the selection for brothel is whited out and when I click on it, the error message say that the property type is residential.  I'm guessing that I need to change the property type to a commercial property, set it to brothel, then change it back to residential?  I don't know if this was intended, but I told kinkymod to set the Working Girls Pool area into a nudist zone.

I should have picked up on the brothel issues during my initial testing with YA characters, but was plagued with some other scripts that were causing other memory and inconsistency issues.  Since then I've removed the NRaaS WooHoo and Story Progressions modules, as well as  alot of other scripts and everything is nice and stable now.  Last night I went six hours without a crash, and I only had to execute a town reset once.  I noticed that once I got to the 5 to 5 1/2 mark, the seats stopped aligning properly with the desks, so the students either couldn't sit down, or they wouldn't register as being in class and showed up as skipping school.  The town reset realigned the objects to remove this error.

Overall, I'm really enjoying the KWSV world and I hope that you continue working on it.

Hope this thread isn't dead because I really want to give this a try. My main question is this. Do I need to use nraas story progression or no? And second: All the custom sims I saw in a different link, do I need those or does the save game have them already homed?  And on the pages for the http://www.lorandiasims3.com/ clothing some say (mesh at) and gives a secondary link. Do I need to grab those for the cloths to work or is that individual mesh for creator to download?  Anything else I might need to know, please throw the info my way

Glory Hole is pretty easy to find. It's in the Passion thread: https://www.loverslab.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=390421

As for the other four, the one's I'm really hoping are why I'm getting that error, I have no idea.

I fired it up last night before I went to sleep and no errors....yet. Still wondering where these go since they where needed but didn't show up in world. I did however get the (All lots could not be loaded) message when I first ran the save game.
