hi. apparently some of my mods aren't playing nicely with the newest version of devious devices integration.

 

I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find or still has an older version that's supposed to work, 2.8.1?

I had a look through my backups and the earliest version I have is v2.9.0. Drop me a pm if it's of any use

What mods in particular are you having issues with? The current release should not interfere with most things though I have issues with the inflatable plug not letting me deflate it.

The mod is DD Restrained, which is the thing that makes it so you can ask for people to untie/ungag you, complete with fun mmphing which... apparently isn't a part of any of those other 1400 mods I had to download to get one thing to happen. The dialogs are fine, when you talk to people you get a little branching conversation where you can click on different mmphs or gestures but at the end of it I kept having people say "got it" or something but then the dialogs would just start over. The raping part works, but I spent like a solid half an hour talking to everyone in town over and over again and the rescuing part never happened. I checked the thread for it to see what was up and it was saying it's not compatible with integration 2.8.2, and the last compatible version was 2.8.1. So, naturally, I tried to find that.

 

And I... did? I found a zip on github but it said it was the "source code"? I installed it with nexus and it seemed to work fine. DD Equip gave me a popup message saying it needed integration 2.9 or higher to work but... it didn't. It worked just fine. You know what didn't work? DD Restrained. At least when I used the newer, incompatible version of integration I could still see the conversation trees, with 2.8.1 it still let me talk.

 

I mean on the one hand I fully expect there to be an extra thing I have to download in order to get anything to function properly, but blindfolds blind me, armbinders keep me out of the inventory (but I can still pick stuff up? that seems wrong), so it's just the gags that require EVEN MORE mods. Like if you're going to go through all the trouble to make a gag for skyrim... why intentionally leave out the gag part?

2.8.2 may have been when they integrated the gag talk, not sure. The only other major changes around that rime was the slot number for some of the items like the vaginal piercing and plugs. I do have DD Itegration v2.81, Assets v2.81 and DD Expansion v1.12 (which I is from the same time period). If you want them then pm me but any mods requiring v3.0+ of DDi will not work right.

No but they didn't, is the thing. There's no gag talk. It's not there. When you equip a gag, you can still talk just fine, that's the problem because that's what DD Restrained is supposed to take care of... which is why it isn't really optional. I mean I've seen people in second life wear totally cosmetic, non-functioning gags before but like Skyrim is a single player game with console commands? I don't see the point. So like if other mods don't work right then I guess they are optional then because good lord what's the point of a gag that doesn't gag? I really can't get over this.

 

Also, you developed the for the masses mod? That's making my game crash for some reason. Like I've tried removing everything except DD and it's 40 something recursive requirements and it still crashes at the menu screen. I'm betting it's one of the umpteen bajillion requirements that I can't even remember which is going to mess everything else up to turn it off. That's usually the way things work for me.

 

I don't mean to sound like nothing works at all - without DDR on everything was fine... hell, WITH DDR on the only issue was that the dialog trees didn't result in... well, anything. It's just maddening how close I am to getting it right.

 

Anwyas, thank you for helping out. This is all so weird and confusing to me, with GZDoom you just drag the thing onto the other thing and it goes. I guess Skyrim is a little more complicated of a game, though.

There are 4 esp's with the mod, make sure only one of them is active as three of them require other mods as they modify the outfits as well. In game if it is causing slowdowns from equipping devices you can go into the settings on the last page and slow down how quickly it processes npc's.

When you start getting into SexLab and DD it can get very complex. I think the biggest mistake people make is running too many of those mods at once and overloading their system, they need added a few at a time.

Thank you so much for saying to make only one esp active, that fixed the immediate crashing and now I can enjoy seeing bound and undressed ladies living their happy Skyrim lives, and giggle at the men walking around in their underwear. Still working on the original issue but at least we can have this now.

DD Restrained was working with 2.8.1 but the game seemed very unstable, crashing occasionally and not loading certain saves, usually the newest ones. When I switched to the newest version and was testing, it didn't have any of those issues... and also, DDR STILL WORKED. The original issue was that DDR wasn't working and I needed an older version... but now I don't? None of this makes any sense to me.    My waifu did install a bunch of new mods, like SL Dialogs, SL Defeat, Devious Framework & DF Support, and Simple Slavery, and the original assumption was that the crashing was caused by an incompatibility with those things being newer versions, or just plain made after DDR, but now I have no clue. Again, Equip continues to tell me it requires integration 2.9 or newer to work, but it  worked perfectly, and I know that wasn't causing the stability issues because I've already seen that pop-up before and it didn't mess up anything.

 

I've been trying to keep all this stuff straight and work it out, but it is really complex and seems like the mods don't always play by their own rules? I was really attracted to this because I could play as my D&D character, which is incredibly dorky - playing a game where my D&D character gets tied up and eventually dinosaurs - I know, but like in Second Life you have to buy everything, which means spending real money or stripping a lot. Neither option is great. And Skyrim is a lot prettier, and the spells and everything just work so... it would be great if I can get it working.
