Guest Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Since this is the technical support thread area, figured i'd ask this here. I've played skyrim before on the Ps3 (yes yes, hold back your PS3 VERSION WAS SHIT comments plz), and now i want to play it on PC. However there are two major problems in the way of doing so: 1.) they removed the "normal" version of Skyrim from steam, all thats on there now is the HD vers / Special Edition. why is this a problem? well... 2.) Could i even run this game decently with mods when my laptop / pc is kinda outdated? Heres my specs: Intel® Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20 GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.2GHz NVidia GT 540m Graphics Card with aprox. 1040MB VRAM 8192MB RAM
Naked Ekans Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 They removed Oldrim from Steam? Really? EDIT: Yeah, it won't show on the search, but here is the link to the store.
Guest Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 They removed Oldrim from Steam? Really? yep, or atleast from the search bar. if you alrdy own the standard / legendary edition, its still there most likely. just if you search Skyrim on the steam app thingy all that shows up is Special Edition
samaka Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Just to be sure;Oldrim; http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/Newrim; http://store.steampowered.com/app/489830/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim_Special_Edition/Now; In Oldrim, the game description starts with; "EPIC FANTASY REBORN..." this does NOT indicate it is special editionTested both links on a device with and without Skyrim/steam installed, and not logged into steam in the browser- both links appear to be working fine. Please thoroughly read the text on the site to be 110% sure

Feliks Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Special Edition has no Script Extender and by extension no sexlab and a variety of other more in depth mods. If your intent is to buy a version to mod in general both will suffice, but many mods are currently not available for the Special Edition because they rely on the script extender. So if not playing with sexlab and most mods on this site is a deal-breaker for you get the original. Edit: Those specs should suffice for the original, no idea what the requirements are on the special edition, I personally didn't notice much of a graphical upgrade but the requirements and recommendations are listed on the steam pages, near the bottom. P.S. Your processor is actually only 4 cores, with hyperthreading, so 8 virtual. Not that Skyrim benefits from that anyways.

But by all means, keep using the app and trying to figure it out champ! It will be funny if you keep using the steam app Also, yes, game should work fine with your specs. Oldrim- not sure about Newrim.

Oldrim- not sure about Newrim. yes and multiple versions i said that you cant find it WITHOUT direct links. This is not me being like "UMG I CANT FIND IT HALP WTF", i'm relaying info. i'm not so stupid as to not google search for oldrim x3 so yes i did find it, before links were given. and TBH im only asking all this about Skyrim because it seems like skyrim has like almost 2-3x the amount of mods (aka much more variety in the sexy factor, although this also by extension means much more cringe content like people making girls have like M-cup breasts~)
