Jbee94 Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 So, I installed the Sofia mod and the customizer both as UNP. I also loaded in a custom UNP mesh from bodyslide and works and changes her nude appearance, but when she puts clothes back on, the clothes are shaped to her default body shape. Is there any way around this to make the clothed shape match the nude? Only files I replaced to achieve this were the actors>character>character assets femalebody_0.nif femalebody_1.nif femalefeet_0.nif femalefeet_1.nif femalehands_0.nif femalehands_1.nif Those were the only files I generated in bodyslide and replaced in Sofia's folder. So if im missing something else to achieve what I am trying to accomplish, I would greatly appreciate the help.
Jbee94 Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Is it because bodyslide used UUNP and the clothing mods are UNP?
C5Kev Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Is it because bodyslide used UUNP and the clothing mods are UNP? No, no, that's OK. UUNP / UNP are the same thing. Just make sure that Sofia's clothing is used for Sofia only! There's normally only one set of meshes for each armor / clothes. Not sure about Sofia, but some custom characters DO have their own armor (and / or clothes) mesh & texture directories. When that's the case, build armor and clothes as mentioned below. I'm confused though. You mention the folder "actors>character>character assets". That's the default mesh folder for everyone. I use a body preset named "generic" for regular slobs and a preset(s) for my character(s). Sofia should have her own mesh and texture folders. After you get your body "defined" in BodySlide, hold down the "CTRL" button and click "Build". That places her body meshes femalebody_0.nif and femalebody_1.nif into the "Data/CalienteTools/BodySlide" folder. Move those files over into your Sofia mesh directory. Same is true for hands & feet. Always hold down the "CTRL" button and click "Build" when you are using a custom character. Otherwise, if you make a body for Sofia and just click build, that sends meshes to "actors>character>character assets". Now make a body for others and click build. You've now just overwritten your Sofia files. Has this helped or am I missing your point?

The custom body just only works when she is nude, when I equip her with UNP compatible clothes, it sets her clothed figure back to her default figure. Yeah sorry, I said the wrong path, I meant meshes > actors > character > Sofia. Unfortunately I dont think she has any custom armor seeing when you first meet her, shes naked lol. So as far as Im aware, theres no way to make her clothed body figure, the same as the custom UNP nude one. But who knows, Im a newbie to the modding community, so maybe there is. On a side note, you don't by any chance know how to fix the neck seam issue with Caesia for the Special Edition do you? No matter what I do, the only solution i've come up with is to give her clothes that cover her neck, seeing she doesnt have a meshes folder.
C5Kev Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 "...theres no way to make her clothed body figure, the same as the custom UNP nude one" Sure there is, that's what BodySlide is for! Here's what you do... First off, make up your body for Sofia in BodySlide and "save as" (call it Sofia LOL) and check all the "group" boxes that show up. That saves a "preset" that you can use for any character. Now, whenever you DL new clothes / armor, etc., always look to see if they have BodySlide files available and DL those as well. If there aren't any, just know that a lot of folks make BodySlide files for stuff that the original modder didn't, so you can always Google "outfit X BodySlide UUNP" and see what comes up. In BodySlide, look for the new clothes / armor under "group filter" and select it. Sometimes modders don't create groups and stuff gets "unorganized". But find the outfit you want for Sofia under "Outfit / Body", select it, then select the Sofia preset in the "preset" drop-down box. If your preset doesn't show up, go back to the "group filter" and select "Unified UNP" (group where you made your body in the first place). Select your Sofia preset you saved earlier and re-save it - and now check the "group" box for the new outfits. Now go back to the Outfit / Body drop-down and your Sofia preset will be listed under "Presets". Build you outfit as I mention above holding down the "CTRL" button - BUT FIRST - I don't recall if Sofia has a separate directory for clothes / armor. If not, then you needn't hold down the "CTRL" button when making clothes. Just remember that BodySlide normally sends the clothes meshes to directories for all NPCs to use - "Data/meshes/armor (or clothes)". That's for generic clothes - custom stuff usually has a separate directory as defined by the modder. You'll need to figure out what that is on yer own. So it's a good idea to pick outfits that you'll only be using for Sofia. If Sofia HAS directories for clothes, then hold "CTRL" + Build, which puts the clothes in "Data/CalienteTools/BodySlide" and you'll have to move them into Sofia's directories. "...know how to fix the neck seam issue with Caesia for the Special Edition" Did you change the character's weight via the console? I've run into this as well and I believe the only way to fix that is via the Creation Kit, which I've never gotten into. I've tried changing weights via TES5Edit / SSEEdit , but that doesn't work. So you might have to learn how to use CK or just live with it. Or you could make a post and ask if someone could do it for you. Folks here are pretty cool.

I have the bodyslide path set to a folder on my desktop just so it doesnt accidently import the files and replace them when I hit save, so my skin textures dont really show up. Im kind of confused what you mean by select new clothes / armor under "group filter", when I type anything in in group filter, nothing shows up, is there another way to manually add the clothing files?
C5Kev Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I have the bodyslide path set to a folder on my desktop just so it doesnt accidently import the files and replace them when I hit save, so my skin textures dont really show up. What? You can set up you rig anyway you want, but this seems a little, well, silly to me. You should put the path back to "...Skyrim/Data" so that it knows where textures are located and / or where to put newly created meshes. OK, sounds like you don't really understand how to use BodySlide correctly or perhaps I'm just missing your point in setting BS up this way. No matter... What I mean by new clothes or armor is anything that is not vanilla or default in the game. New clothes, armor and BodySlide files are installed via your mod manager such a Nexus Mod Manager. I'm sure you know that, but... "So as far as Im aware, theres no way to make her clothed body figure, the same as the custom UNP nude one." Yes you can, but you'll have to download "NEW" clothes or armor (and BodySlide files) for her and make them to fit her body. You can't do it with strickly "vanilla" assets. The following only works if you have downloaded armors or clothes and their associated BodySlide files. If you haven't downloaded anything, obviously nothing will show up in the "Group Filter" area. After you've done that... In the image below, click on the "Group Filter" down arrow and that opens a drop-down and asks "Choose Groups" or "Refresh Groups". Select "Choose Groups". The "Choose Groups" dialog box opens as shown - one doesn't type anything in there. I don't know if you are playing a vanilla game or what, but in my case, I have downloaded the following clothes: MiniDresses, Sexy Vanilla Female Armor, Amazing World of Bikini Armor and some outfits are in "Unassigned". Say I want to make bikini armor for my preset "Tanya" (for you, Sofia). I would check the "WTF Bikini Armor" box, then OK. The "WTF The Amazing World of Bikini Armor" name will now show up in the "Group Filter" box. Again, you don't type anything in here. These "groups" are added via the BodySlide files one downloads. Now go to the left to the "Outfit / Body" drop-down, click on the arrow and a list of available bikini armors will be listed. In this example, I select "Dragonbone Bikini Top 4", click "preview" and the top is shown fitted to my "Tanya" body preset. I then click "build" and the top is all set to go in my game. Note that sometimes an actual body isn't shown in the preview, but is still fitted for the preset. * If you want to change your body parameters via RaceMenu in-game (if you don't know what that is, I'll explain), you need to check the "Build Morphs" box at the lower right-hand side. * If I wanted to have ALL the different bikini armors made for my preset since only I use them, I would click "Batch Build" to make all of the parts in one shot. * When you do click "Batch Build", a box will open listing ALL the parts to ALL the armors. If, for example, you only want to make Dragonbone armor, right click within that box and select "none", then check each box for the dragonbone armors only and it'll make only those parts. This is an example of why having your BodySlide path other than what it ought to be is not good. In your case, it probably puts all armor parts into your desktop folder and the game doesn't know anything about that folder, so you'd have no dragonbone armors in game. "I have the bodyslide path set to a folder on my desktop just so it doesnt accidently import the files and replace them when I hit save" "Save" and "Save As" is for your body presets, not clothes. And you needn't worry about overwriting default armor, etc., anyway. If you make a "generic" body shape, just remake the outfits if you need to. Also, notice I have a group called "WTF Sexy Vanilla Female Armor". That's cuz I don't like the vanilla armors. So, I have a preset made up for a "generic" female body. I would then select the "Sexy Vanilla Armors", select my generic preset and click "Batch Build". BodySlide now makes ALL the sexy armor parts - armor, boots, gauntlets, etc. to fit my generic preset. Done. Hope this gets you going....
Jbee94 Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 I managed to figure out how to work Outfit Studio and expand the meshes to fit the body, only thing is, this way needs to do every single piece individually. If I managed to export all of the clothing nifs, how do I set them so they just apply for Sofia? I saw your post on the select groups on bodyslide, I have a few outfits downloaded as well, but all thats showing up for me is CBAdvanced, Unified UNP and Unassigned, but when I click on outfit/body all that shows up is (Unified UNP) and the list that follows.
C5Kev Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 "only thing is, this way needs to do every single piece individually." Please reread my posts. "If I managed to export all of the clothing nifs, how do I set them so they just apply for Sofia?" Well, you can't. One has to dedicate specific stuff just for her - any other NPC that might wear the same stuff will simply have the same body as Sofia, which really shouldn't bother you too much I wouldn't think. CBAdvanced, Unified UNP and Unassigned So is your outfit under unassigned? You need to select a group first. CBBE, UNP are usually only body things, so click unassigned and see what's there. If you find your outfit and select it, but your Sofia body preset isn't there, again, please reread my posts. I told you how to do find / fix it. EDIT: Oh, after you get your Sofia preset made, use "Save As" to give it a name. Then when you have your preset open in preview and you make body changes, now you can use "Save".
Jbee94 Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 This is what shows up when I click unassigned, UNP, and both.
Jbee94 Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Figured out how to work outfit studio Only hard part is when I have to do the hands and feet, when they clip with the calves and forearms I just have to load the body nif and make sure it fits. Just used the Katarina outfit to see if it even works, and it seems to. Thanks for the help though man, I really appreciate you taking the time to even talk to me on here and write some details posts.
C5Kev Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Ok, good to see you're making progress. Sofia looks good! Just think of "Group" as the name for the overall outfit(s). "Outfit / Body" has the individual pieces to everything within the group. As I said though, not every modder makes a "Group(outfits).xml" file (under "Data/Caliente/BodySlide/SliderGroups "), which is simply a text file, listing all the parts in a certain format. By not doing this can make creating outfits a real pain in the ass. One guy made over 100 sexy outfits to replace the default outfits for FO4. They're nice outfits, but not having them in a "group" forces folks to have to go through and check over 100 individual outfits so that they can make them via the batch build all at once. So I made a group.xml file for the guy and sent it to him as I'm always tweaking bodies. Because I changed my generic NPC body (the majority of the outfits are for NPCs), I can now select the "Joe's X Outfits" group and make all of them in one shot vs individually. The guy responded and said thanks and that he was "thinking" about doing it. Thinking about it? Dude, you've got over 100 outfits here... !!! C'Mon...! Anyway, Sofia looks good, now get those boobs a shakin' !
Jbee94 Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 Yeah, I realized theres different parts. I just need to be really careful to not expand the meshes of certain parts too far or else they wont work properly. Only thing i'm having trouble with, is when the outfit has the skin in the outfit as well, deleted or disabling the extra skin doesnt seem to help either, Ill post a picture for an example below, her hand I mean. What do you mean by saving multiple files as groups? I have Sofias body type saved so I dont have to go in and select it everytime, but that about all I really do in bodyslide before moving over to outfit studio. I don't know if youre suppose to or not, but I also dont mess with the hands or feet nifs either, I just make sure if the gloves/ boots extend over onto the body nif, I make sure the mesh fits properly. Doing a whole 1 set or 0 set at a time, then allowing multiple outfit nifs to be viewed to make sure they all fit properly cuts the time nearly in half. Ive done like 6 outfits now, I think that'd enough, at least for now, lol.
