weredeer Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Which of the TS4 DLCs do you guys feel you get the most out of Wicked Whims with? If Wicked Whims didn't exist, which of the TS4 DLCs adds the most to vanilla gameplay? Do you guys think TS4 is pretty much done releasing more content, and when Maxis patches their game do you guys find that it breaks Wicked Whims or other mods often? --- I have been enjoying this game for a couple weeks now and am considering getting some more content but I am uncertain what pros and cons there might be. DLC I am considering are City Living, Get to Work, Get Together, Spa Day and Vampires. Maybe one of these a month depending on whether it holds my interest. I am certain that between Wicked Whims, The Book of Torture and Chaos, and the Extreme Violence mod I am having more fun than I should be. Anybody's wise and learned opinion is appreciated, still kinda newb at this game. thanks
Guest Redabyss Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 You don't really need dlcs for WW, but some animators did animations for objects included in the dlcs. For example, I did a small series for the Arcade Machine, which is dlc only.
TURBODRIVER Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Since WW doesn't require or support any DLCs yet, there isn't anything that would directly make WW better. I have not really played much of any DLC, but I think Get To Work is pretty fun. There is a ton of content coming to TS4 until the end of the year. So far I have not had too much trouble updating WW because of game updates. It mostly takes 1 or 2 days. Don't get City Living or at least leave it for the end.
weredeer Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Thanks for the responses. I guess i wanted to know which dlc had more "Wicked-able" objects than like the pinball machine redabyss mentioned or hot tub or whatnot. Curious why city living is least desirable? The maxis sims site is not exactly the most descriptive about their products. Plus on the forums there's a lot of sims 3 fans who love to shit on sims 4. Typical gaming forum behavior but it makes it harder to make an informed decision. Great to know that if there is an update that breaks WW you will sew it back up again. Thanks!

I don't know about the objects, but I remember that I got the Perfect Patio Stuff Pack first because it adds a hot tub which was used in few first animations. It's just my preference, but City Living doesn't add much of meaningful gameplay, it's mainly the city, few side activities, and festivals. There is a charm to it, having an apartment might be more interesting than a house, but that's about it. Two years ago I was against Sims 4 too, but I was saying, once they add more content it will be worth it and it's worth it now. If a Sims 3 player just shits on Sims 4 without acknowledging that it is a good game on its own, something is just wrong with that person.
weredeer Posted May 14, 2017 Author Posted May 14, 2017 thanks turbo thats the kinda of opinion i needed.

If a Sims 3 player just shits on Sims 4 without acknowledging that it is a good game on its own, something is just wrong with that person. Most of the gaming community is very impatient when it comes to many things. When the Sims 4 first came out I bought the limited edition and then put it away, waited a few years for the modding community to do what they do best then jumped in both feet. As of right now Sims 4 has enough to keep mostly everyone happy with all it's current content. I am waiting for Seasons, maybe more job options like ambitions did for Sims 3, and possibly pets. The worst thing a modder can do is try to please everyone. Why? Well first of all it's literally impossible to do. No matter what you do and everything you try to change people will always find an excuse to complain. Best to to what let you want ignore everyone else. If people support you all the better. If not, let them cry. No skin off your back. Secondly you can get burnt out very quickly trying to please everyone. Something I need to work on for sure in real life. >.>
Guest Redabyss Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I mean, WW has like almost double the sex animations of TS3, with MANY more options, and even little series like the teacher one from Zorak. TS3 pales in that regard and has only L666's animations, and more F + multiple M going for it, imho. If you only care about sex animations, TS4 has so much more content it's not even funny.
Outlast1 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 TS4 is actually pretty damn nice and the character customization I feel is better I was able to sculpt the body how I wanted. Though there are aspects I miss from Ts3 and that was having vehicles, seasons, and the fact I modded my sims 3 to be more like a darker version kinda like cool world except there is sexual assault in dark alley ways, and I over hauled the map to be more of a clustered city with many dark alley ways adult stores, and a full red light district. But I actually think that sims 4 will have that stuff in time, WW pretty much has been working on that. City living has promise and im sure once enough ppl get interested onikiworld will arrive in a way, though WW to me is turning out to be better than Oniki world. Just waiting for the strip clubs and trying to turn the bubbler into an actual ganja bong and all special drinks into liquor, and ales, and lagers. Also brothels, and well darker. But honestly Sims 4 is actually worth getting now. I was upset with it at first, but I haven't really played sims 3 in months since wicked whims allows my incest family of red necks living in downtown Seattle, (aka San Fran by EA standards) to flourish I have 8 members weirdly they are all women, which is grand but odd only two men the original dad now dying, and once sibling. thanks turbo driver your a genius. but the best DLC would be get to work, and I believe the one where you can run your own store. The worst one I regret buying is vacation time in da woods, felt empty and pointless. Thats my opinion good luck on your adventures.
weredeer Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Almost got "get to work" but i am sure i will get it eventually. I went with Vampires mostly for the role play and the extra ways to control and torture sims. Theres more to the dlc than i thought there would be. New abilities leveling up, putting points in things...I love that stuff. The little holes left on victims are pretty cute too. At home I got one dead dad, 2 murder victims, a drowning victim, an evil stepmom, a demon, an incubus, 2 succubi, and 3 evil daughters, one of which is now sneakin around tricking family and friends into dark corners. It's super long modded playthrough so already some terrible things have happened, but rp'ing the vampire thing has added some needed twist to my story. Weird how this game is so good at generating a story out of nonsense. They speak gobbledy gook I my brain is compelled to fill in the blanks.

Just use it like I do, an escapage in da woods for two cheating married Sims or something like that XD Slim's animations are perfect for such scenario, imho.

Hmm that's a good idea actually, Thanks gonna try that now. I have not tried vampires yet as I am desperately trying to figure out how to overhaul city living to be like I had in sims 3 with dark alleys, ports, empty parking garages, and those pesky muggers, thugs and criminals roaming around in a city that has shortage on police. Even home invasions where they steal stuff, and do other more aggressive things. I guess I just hate the feeling that its a cute little paradise world. I prefer a more realistic theme like if you go to downtown Chicago, or L.A. where there are very dangerous areas that if you are a woman your warned not to travel there by your self, live alone there, and always travel in packs. sadly the workshop is a bit hard to use its not as simple as ts3 where I just created buildings and other objects and placed them into the game wherever I felt.
