kernalgohd Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 So Ive seen plenty of save game CTDs around today, looking up this topic, but none of them are quite in the same spot Im in. I recently wiped my hard drives and all that fun stuff, and decided to dive back into the skyrim modding. Ive installed 188 mods according to NMM, I usually dont bother resorting my mods, rather just install them in the correct order in the first place. After getting it all done, I boot up the game, and play for a good while, probably the smoothest Ive ever managed to get the game to run ever. But for some reason, the game absolutely refuses to load any games ever. I can create new games, and play them for hours, but if I ever try to load any save, no matter how new, it CTDs after its done loading (does not leave loading screen, but right at the hitch that indicates its done loading, it just crashes). Ive gone around, run LOOT, and tried all the safety load, memory blocks, all those kinds of mods, and they either do nothing, or ensure a crash at the start of a new game. I would post my papyrus logs, but enabling the tracking causes the game to also crash on new game. Im hoping that somewhere in my load order, there is either an incompatibility that LOOT and myself overlooked, or LOOT just pushed something to a bad load order. The only thing I havent done yet, is use TES5Edit and cleaned the mods, because thats something Ive never done yet, and if there is a more simple issue, Id rather solve that first. Thanks for at least taking a read, and if any more info is needed, do let me know. I do use ENB as well. LoadOrder_Skyrim_2017-05-03T16-36-40.txt
Sladen2019 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 You can try these following settings in enblocal.ini under the Threads section. This will need 0.303 or newer. DataSyncMode=1 PriorityMode=0 or DataSyncMode=2 PriorityMode=3 The max value for each is 4. Some say these settings can cause stuttering. but you can try them and always go back to 0 and 0. They should help load your save. You can then go to somewhere easier and save. You should disable all forms of auto saving and only save in small interiors or dungeons when you can. In places like the middle of Whiterun and so with lots of npcs and scripts going, its a bad idea to save. Always make new saves, don't save over old saves. There is also a mod called Continue Game No Crash: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78557/? Both of the above should only be considered temporary. If you need to use the above methods every time you load a save, that save is probably corrupted beyond help and is likely doomed.

Unfortunately making those changes to the enblocal.ini causes coc qasmoke to crash, and new game. Also I believe you didnt quite understand, or I wasnt specific enough. Continue Game No Crash skips certain parts that would cause a game to crash or hitch if in a busy area. But there is no difference how busy the area is. I cant load a coc qasmoke game, nor can I load a brand new game if I save in the alternate start room, save, and then load right away. Essentially the entire Load feature is broken. Either that, or my game cannot make a save game that isnt corrupt immediately.
valcon767 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 do you have Crash Fixes ( http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2551-crash-fixes/ ) installed? Skyrim has a default string limit that will cause you to be unable to load any save after going over it (mine does in the AS-LAL start cell). animations can add a fair amount to the strings count in a hurry.

I did try Crash Fixes. It causes me to crash, ironically enough. Its looking like Im gonna have to spend tomorrow learning what this TES5Edit thing is all about and clean my mods (Never had to do before, thats why im hesitant)
Matz Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Someone helped me with a similar problem I couldn't load any save game, I know it's not a fix but it can avoid CTD (maybe). When you're on the main menu type "coc qasmoke" on the command section with "²" after that just load a save and it shouldn't crash.
