GenralPurpiss Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 at the risk of sounding like a 3 year old, How do I install these mods to get them to work in my game???
vinfamy Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I'll write a step-by-step instruction assuming no previous knowledge of modding within the next few days
Varithina Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 You have basically 4 choices for installing mods in fallout 4, There is its in built mod manager, no idea how this works and will draw mods from bethnet, not sure how to add mods from other sites though and I think you need an bethnet account to download though it is not something I looked into. Manual, this can be the trickiest way to install mods, but is an option, in this case download the mod and unzip it somewhere, within the folder now created there may be an file with the esp extension, as well as meshes/textures and other folders, copy and paste them into your fallout 4\data directory, overwrite when asked for the most part. Nexus mod manager, this is at present the recommended way, find it here; http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/? there is a download link up the top, can not help you much with this as I have not touched it in the past couple of years, but there are plenty of guides around. Mod organiser 2, found here http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194/?, yes its on the sse page but it will work with fallout 4, there is a steps wiki page found here http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Gernash/MODWiki, do note however mo2 can be somewhat quirky at present, though this is the way I manage mods for both fallout 4 and sse, though I would not at present use it for any other game. With mo2, it creates a download directory, you can set this to wherever you want in its settings page, and should have different download directories for each game, then simply drop the downloaded zip files for the mods into that directory then go onto the downloads tab on the right side of the program window, and double click to install, it can also automatically down load from nexus, though an account is I think required, though not too sure about that, as I have had a nexus account back to when they needed seperate username/passwords for each game.
