Sexout causing massive stutters on high end pc

So I played like 20hours total before my game started stuttering upon doing some actions like entering a new zone, waiting, saving, loading, opening menus such as barter so i started disabling mods one by one and it was Sexout.esm that caused it as i disable it the stutters are gone, can anyone help with this?

 

I also tried a clean save but ended up in the same situation, only after disabling Sexout.esm were the stutters gone.

EDIT: Having seen your other post, the problem is that you lost your NVSE cosave. That is the cause.

 

My original answer is below, but you can't follow it if you don't have the .NVSE cosave to upload .

 

 

Sexout should not cause stutter- it does not really do anything when a scene is not running, except for the scanner; which is highly optimized, and how often it runs is adjustable in MCM.

 

But, it is possible if something has gone wrong.

 

If you have a savegame that always stutters could you upload it along with the cosaves, thats:

 

- Your regular save game file, probably in Libraries/Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/Saves/MySave.fos

- The NVSE cosave, which is in the same folder as above, with same file name but a .nvse at the end

- The NX cosave in FNV/data/nvse/plugins/Extender/Saves/MySave.csv

 

So: 3 files with the same name but different extensions: .fos, .nvse and .csv

 

Then I will investigate.

 

I was experiencing stutter recently, and cleaning up my packages in FOMM seems to have fixed it. I had loads of mods installed which I was not using; if you just untick or remove an .esp but not the package, you still load all the assets. Installing mods on top of other mods causes a mess too- I had Type 6M with TypeN over the top... and lots of other similar stuff. Cleaning all that up seems to have fixed it.

 

If you have loads of high-def mesh and texture replacers installed you could also try disabling them and see if it makes a difference.

Well im not exactly not sure what you mean that i dont have the cosave if it remakes itself on every save but I have the 3 saves of a game that stutters, which by toggling off sexout.esm removes the stutter. But i cant seem to upload it using the file uploader as i get the error "Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file" ?

Im also not quite sure how you could investigate it without having exact same mod setup.

I made a very fresh reinstall of Fallout New vegas through steam, using FOMM, NEW GAME and only mod being Sexout and it stuttered, its like Sexout broke for my pc, tried reinstalling it aswell and the beta patch.

Also how do i download an old version of SexoutNG? i can only find the 97 and 98 but id like to test if 96 works unless some mods need 97

I've tried your save and don't get stuttering. Sexout does not appear to be doing anything much script wise. Can't see anything unusual sexout related in the nvse of NX cosave- you haven't had that much sex.

 

It looks like Unethical Deeds has a bloat issue; its created hundreds of string_vars with values of 'Unethical Deeds EE' or 'UnethicalDeeds.esm'. Eventually that might cause a problem you could fix by clean saving and reloading that mod, but I don't think there are enough yet to be causing this.

 

What localization of FNV are you using? (eg: English/German/Russian.... Gore/No Gore)

 

What OS are you running? (Windows XP/7/10...?)

 

FNV does have a rep for stutter.. a few things worth trying:

 

- Make sure you really did do a clean install, without any packages or extra NVSE plugins aside from Sexout, NVSE and NX, to be sure it really is sexout. I can see you are loading a few heavy mods like rePopulated Wasteland, AWOP in the savegame.

- If you are using no-gore FNV and can get the regular gore version, try that.

- Try using New Vegas Stutter Remover: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34832/?

- I am also using NVAC (New Vegas Anti Crash) and FNV 4GB. Worth a try if you are not.

- Make sure both your OS (eg: 'C') and FNV hard drives are not full or nearly full.

 

I recommend trying the above before downgrading sexout, because old versions have more bugs and less mod support. However, old versions are bundled with sexout core, look in FNV/data/SexoutNGBackups and there are versions back to '90.

 

You need to rename the old version you want 'sexout.esm' and put it in the main data directory.

 

Please let me know if any of that fixes it.

Tried everything but cant get it fixed

Its not caused by Unethical Deeds EE

-English/Gore

-Windows10

-i definitely had a clean install as it was a very fresh reinstall with only mod being sexout and its requirements

-Using regular version

-Using NVAC and stutter remover

-Drive that has FNV is currently 80gb free

Tried 96 but did not help.

Afraid I'm running out of ideas .

 

Try updating to NVSE beta if you're on stable.

 

There are various tweak options for the NV stutter remover you could try.

 

It could be a graphics option; try setting everything to minimum and if it helps, turn things back up in batches to figure out which one is problematic.

 

Could try disabling virus scanners.

I dont think any of that graphics stuff could help as its literally just the sexout.esm file causing the freezing, its not like my pc cant run the game as im usually 144fps but i guess ill have to play the game without sexout stuff then

Did not work but i cant imagine changing any other mod could affect Sexout.esm

The thread you linked is a different problem, caused by a bloat bug in early Sexout '93 betas which I fixed. This does not apply here; aside from the minor UD bloat your .nvse cosave is okay.

 

You mentioned that it didn't start stuttering until 20 hours in, but now it also stutters for a new game. Your save game does not stutter for me.

 

Furthermore I've checked your .nvse and NX cosaves, and sexout debug in the main save and can't see anything abnormal.

 

Also, sexout has changed little in the past 2 years, has thousands of users and I don't recall anyone else linking stuttering to it, aside for beta bugs that got fixed.

 

This strongly suggests to me that sexout is not directly or at least wholly to blame- something else in your system must have changed.

I understand but its weird that once i take off sexout.esm i can play the game butter smooth with 0.5sec quick save

Okay, I found a really ancient sexout version from 2013, v2.6.78... back in the bad ole NVSE 3 days. I think this may be the first version I ever used. It will not be compatible with many mods, but will offer a clue if it does/doesn't stutter. Give it a try, maybe my junk hoarding nature will pay off .

I literally just did like 20 clean saves to find out that it works up to Sexout_9.92, something in 93 broke the mod for me and me only but that might be a bit useless aswell AFAIK has to be over 95 or 96 for mods to work

Interesting. '93 was a big leap, with most of the scripts rewritten to take advantage of NVSE 4. It also added loads of new animations and other plugin data.

 

My theory is it is either script related or total record related.

 

I have attached a test version of sexout 98b1 with all the quest scripts detached. Please test from a clean save, which essentially makes sexout script free, so should let us know which of those possibilities it is.

 

Note: Without scripts, sexout won't really do anything, so this plugin is only useful for stutter testing.

Have you made any change to Fallout.ini in Documents/My Games/Fallout/NV?

 

You could try adjusting iNumHWThreads=X to 1 or your CPU cores (try both), and iFPSClamp=30 or 60.

As i said in the original post it always happens on certain actions such as saving but I guess freeze is more appropriate word here as it simply increases save time by a few seconds - 10 so i have instant saves when using the older version or disabling the esm

but after 93 i have long freezes during a save process

And it is not because of having too many script heavy mods or bloated save because it was there when i did the clean install with sexout being only mod and its required components and making a new game
