Whiterun sidequests not triggering

I'm having a problem with some quests not triggering in Skyrim SE. most everything seems to be centered around Whiterun for instance, i can't get Ysolda's mammoth quest, or Amren's sword quest​ to trigger(cut scene does trigger), Braith bullies the other kid but he won't ask me to help, Carlotta won't ask me to help with Mikieal(sp), and the Redguard woman doesn't trigger. I have also noticed that Eriker's(sp) quest given by his sister is also not triggering.

 

Granted these quests are not terribly important but i'm worried that i'll miss out on content that i haven't experienced before or that I'll encounter something game breaking down the road. I'm relativity new to modding so I'm pretty sure it's something in my load order but i'm not sure what.

 

i've also done some research on multiple forums and this seems to be a common issue that people are experiencing, however i can't find any solutions. Here is my load order, thanks for any help you guys can provide!

 

Other relevant information:

     Tested with multiple new saves, still not triggering

     Using Mod Organizer 2 so nothing in the actual game folder should be overwritten

​The last mods in this list are there just for textures, they are oldrim mods that won't work with the 64bit engine.

It doesn't look like you've sorted with LOOT.  As an example you have Alternate start patches higher in your load order than Alternate Start, and you have Relationship Dialog Overhaul high in your order when it needs to be low.

I've been a bit confused about that, I have sorted with loot but the guide I used(S.E.P.T.I.M) said it's a bit inaccurate with the sse patch. Should I just run loot and leave it as is? I see what yiu mean about the alternative life patches,

 

Also, after a default sort with loot I have the grey head bug due to a problem with immersive NPC and WICO. That I can fix but I'm not sure if I should just leave what loot does alone. Thanks for the help btw :) like I said I'm new at this.

Loot does a pretty good job of resolving a lot of conflicts but it doesn't get everything right.  NPC overhaul mods it generally gets wrong, those need to be low in your list.  It looks like we're using a lot of the same mods so I can post my load order if it helps.  I've had no issues so far with it and have played it for over 200 hours.  I just added iNeed and You Hunger so I'm not sure yet if those are in the right spot.  Also I see you have both WICO and Diversity.  They both do the same thing pretty much so you may as well pick one, not much point using both.

Thanks again for the assist, i'm going to try to copy the NPC overhauls that we share into the same load order. I did run with the new load order and i'm still getting the same issue, no radient quests from NPCs in whiterun, and elsewhere i suspect. I tried with my existing main save as well as a new one to rule out an issue with the file. thanks again!

One other potential issue regarding the dark faces.  Diversity has not been patched for the latest version of USSEP.  Not sure about WICO.  I had to make my own patch that includes the facegen stuff from USSEP.  That's what the NPC Override in my load order is.  Older versions of USSEP work without a patch.

that would explain it, i don't think i'm experienced enough to make my own patches. luckily i can fix the issue by tweaking the load order, it's the whiterun quest thing that's driving me nuts :)

UPDATE: it's definitely one of the mods I'm running. I ran a clean vanilla game and look and behold the radient quests were there, any advice you guys have would be helpful.

I've locked down the problem. It looks like something went wrong when I cleaned the master files....how do i fix this without breaking my save game? I'm pretty sure I need to do a clean install...and then reinstall all of my mods. Help please

I followed the S.E.P.T.I.M guide on the nexus, alongside predcaliber's YouTube video guide made for septim. Predcaliber teaches you how to clean the masters with sse edit. I thought everything had gone well. I should also note that my game is still stable, it's just the problem with the favor quests it looks like, that also means it's not just whiterun. Thieves guild radient are likely broken as well, though I haven't tested it yet

Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't Relationship Dialog Overhaul fiddle with dialogs, (specifically quests from people who like you or not)? Just wondering if you have a mixture of things which might effect that particular mod. Just a passing thought, (I did have it in my load out but removed it for unrelated issues).

That's, IMO, a rock solid load out, have run several characters up to 20+ - which is basically all I ever do before getting bored - and it seems fine.

Unless RDO edits the registry of the masters and leaves lingering files after an Uninstall but mo2 is supposed to avoid that by not actually changing the game files.

 

Also, I quite like your load out, did you have to convert any oldrim mods or is everything plug and play?

 

I may just scrap this build and start over, not sure yet

Just to clarify, you fresh installed, cleaned the masters, and installed LAL and the issue still occurs? So your mod load out would be in that scenario :-?

In which case, erm. Right assuming you have a cleaned out install and those were the only things in the list at this point, you could just check to see if you have a scripts file folder under data. (i.e. all those files you have now will come with .bsa's which have all their scripts bundled up into said .bsa's. So if that is your test load order for your issue you shouldn't really have any scripts file folder. For a test, (and if you do have it), just rename it to something like 'scriptsbackup', and see if it does the quests).

Yep my load out has quite a bit of converted stuff in it. However there was quite a bit in there, (in terms of load order), which was similar to your load out. So it was just a pointer type thing.

EEk, if you are using MO, the above probably isn't applicable. (However MO does have functionality which tells you what is overwriting what).

That may be where I messed up, I didn't clear out existing .bsa files. I loaded a new profile, verified integrity through steam so I could obtain fresh masters and then cleaned them.

That's why I chose MO over NMM. I love that the files are open source and I can see exactly where bugs are occurring, also instead of overwriting the files permanently MO overrides on the fly based on your mod order if I understand it correctly. Much bigger learning curve but we'll worth it imo

 

Just read your post a bit more carefully, does MO not store edited scripts based on plug-ins. FNIS animations would be a good example.
