sudden crash for unknown reason

heya all,

I've spent the last week modding my skyrim to a point where it's somewhat acceptable for me, and everything seemed to work perfectly with no conflicts or crashes whatsoever.

Then, suddenly, as i tried to start a new game i experienced something weird. Im using alternate start, and being in the cave and everything works fine, but as soon as i select a life and click on the bed the game crashes after loading, and crash fix gives me an error message that i can't really put anywhere.

I have tried to disabled some recently installed mods with no success. Does anybody know what Mod could be the culprit of that? My guess wouldve been "more tavern idles" but LOOT didnt show any signs of a conflict.

Which life were you selecting?

What new textures have you installed?

I chose "i was camping in the woods", i usually chose that for testing stuff. As for the Textures, not that many. Pfuschers "Skyrim 2016 Shaders" textures, SMIM and the textures that come with it, and other than that just small textures for stuff like carrots, cabbage, etc. Oh yeah and Immersive roads.

It says right there its a corrupted mesh, that means there is some armor/cloth/tree whathave you mesh being loaded that may be corrupted. Now most likely its an armor have you applied any weights to your armors? Also know that the shaders mod also adds meshes so try disabling that and starting your game to see if it works without it.

Do you have hdt extension?

Yeah i have hdt extension and hdt highheels for using the book of uunp and another uunp vanilla hdt pack. I'm mostly using those immersive packs like armonizer, immersive armors, stuff like that, but not really any single-outfit mods. That's what's most confusing to me. It worked fine the day before, but today it just crashes while loading and the only difference is that i had some more texture mods installed, like immersive roads and 2016 shaders, which i have both disabled now and it still doesn't work.

Do you use SKSE? Do you use and ENB? Do you use Windows 7? Something thats loading into the world in that area is causing you to crash only thing that you can do is keep removing things until you find the issue.

I remember for the longest time there was a certain armor that always caused a crash I finally had to sit down and go through the mods 1 by 1 until i found the culprit. It turns out the weights were messed up on the Iron Armor.

Do you use the loader and crash fixes look here how to install properly

How to use the memory allocator patch?
1. Open CrashFixPlugin.ini and find "UseOSAllocators=0"
2. Change it to "UseOSAllocators=1"
3. Download and install SKSE Plugin Preloader
4. Start game, if you get an error saying that memory patch could not be applied read the message for help, otherwise you're good to go.
(5.) Causes game to crash and you use ENB? Set ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false in enblocal.ini
(6.) Causes game to crash more frequently (especially with UNP RaceMenu sliders)? Try AlignHeapAllocate=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini

You have a very big problem on weathers choice.

1) I see vivid weather and climate of tamriel. They are absolutly not compatible.

Build your game  on COT  or Vivid...not both.

You have both , so you must have problems with lighting too and ENB too.

2) You use Snowfall weather ENB.........absolutly not compatible with Climate of tamriel.

Snowfall weather enb is made for NLVA.....a totally different concept.

3) Why are you using Pure water? Use Realistic water 2...this is made for ENB and have better textures.

4) why are you using morning fog? The enb can do it freely...without mod.

Well, in my opinion, your biggest problem is the choice between Lighting/ENB/climate.

Not sure it makes crash your skyrim actually but it will.

5) Concerning your error message, use TES5 edit to localise the problem with ID number you have.

6) Pfuscher remesh and retex are clean. Smim too. The problem is not here. Pfusher 's work  only add new meshes with paralax and new hd textures

The book of UUNP is clean too.

It wont cause crashes marmotte but you're right in that they are overwriting eachother making most of it redundant.

Posted

This is not only redundant Atreyatan......this will cause you problems in the futur  :-/

Be reasonable with mods. One after one....time after time....only the most effective.....only the indispensible.

And read all requirements of mod....and read incompatibilities too :P

Posted

Well tbh I ran into this same issue running multiple weather mods when I first started modding it had never caused crashes throughout a whole playthru, but it will overwrite records and make weather changes depending on which one is loaded last. I guarantee you it wont cause crashes I invite you to try it on a playthru if you don't believe me.

Posted

Thanks Atreyatan , but i don't like Climate of tamriel.....too much excessive for me

And all ENBS i use are made for NLA spirit, so...

Good luck

yep I still love Climates of Tamriel for realvision ENB but I now use the Hircine Grim and Somber ENB which is incompatible unfortunately.

I have the Vivid Weather .esp disabled, the Snowfall ENB required it, though you are right that it needed NLVA and not COT. I'm just so used to using COT that i probably installed it out of reflex, also because there are a lot of compatibility patches for most of the mods i'm using for it.

And Pure Water because i planned on using RND which requires it for the waterfountains if im not mistaken?

Also, as you can read out of my problems, i do use SKSE and ENB, and i already have Set ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false

Note :

Loot is not perfect and it doesn't recognised a lot of mods. So, try to modify the load order manualy too.

note 2:

Wolfgrimdark recommand a pure vanilla weather and light for his enb Grim and somber ....

Note 3:

Realvision is a little bit outdated. If you chose and enb, chose one up-to-date. And enb working on 0.305 or 0.308 binaries.

I did read that I am just asking if you run SKSE i ran into several people who installed SKSE but don't use it to start skyrim xD

Also if I may offer an alternative to RND that detects all water EatingSleepingDrinking this mod also offers specific animations for all sorts of drinks and food as well

as opening doors etc all which can be turned off, not only does it have that it has widgets you can turn on and off to keep track of your hungryness etc. Among all that it has headtracking feature as well. Now I used RND alot and can say I like this mod better the person who makes it is japanese so you kind of have to figure your way around the MCM its in english but poorly written lol. Its for female characters only as the animations are primarily feminine. It even has animations for sleeping in beds just read the instructions on the download page.

EDIT: So with this EatingSleepingDrinking you can remove immersive beds, head tracking mod and animations mod(this mod causes blocked npc's)

Lol.....who install skse without using it????

If you install SKSE, you use it and you launch the game with the SKSE loader....always  :)

note: You use new animations, so do not forget to run FNIS before playing too...always.

There is actually a updated realvision enb by someone else although its up to date it doesn't use some of the newest ENB options so its still dated but works.

I helped two separate people using teamviewer who didn't run through skse smh xD they didn't think it made a difference lol

Doom driven,

Maybe you should use tes5 edit.

Tes5 edit allow you to "test" your game and if the general loading is good.

This is a good tool, without risks. This is not a mod.

launch tes5edit and wait the enb of loading.

If the game is clean, the last sentence is "  Background Loader: finished"

If not, you will have the name mod which cause you problems.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?

About climate of Tamriel:

I understand you like it...but so much esp and fix for just "weathers"....

I definitly think you can obtain great weather types without COT and with less esp.

Posted

I just tried tes5edit and it completed with Background Loader: finished. Honest out of Ideas right now on what could be the problem. The only thing i could think of is that maybe SMIM got somehow messed up by me installing and deinstalling texture Mods for testing so i might reinstall it and see if it works again. Still weird that it works fine in the Alternate start Cave but crashes as soon as its loading outdoors.

And i might give the RND alternative a try, though i kinda also want to try iNeed, depends on how compatible they are with the current mods i have.

Posted

Please just give eatingsleepingdrinking a try first its so good but doesn't hardly get as much attention but amazingly well done.

Yeah there is just something loading into the worldspace that is causing an immediate crash I wish I could tell you what, I know there are some bandits in that area you can try this

1.) open up console spawn in about 25 bandits in the alternative start cell if it crashes its probably an armor.

Do you use windows 7 or 10 btw?

Load plugins in TES5Edit.

In FormID window type 0050385.

Result will be MountainCliffSm01.nif

Find out if your landscape altering mods that come with meshes need a patch concerning MountainCliffSm01.nif and/or if landscape mods you're using are compatible at all.

I also saw that you had immersive detection of npc's, but just to let you know that was put on the dangerous mods list.

Here is the excerpt from the site.

Immersive Detection of NPCs - Rating: Three (3)

Last version checked: 2.5
The author of this mod chose to go for gameplay function over technical performance, and while this approach can have benefits, this mod suffers from poor scripting techniques that can bog down your game. The scripts run on an infinite looping cycle that does not come with a delay, meaning that takes up a lot of resources in the scripting engine. Due to the intensity of this mod it may be a notable contributor towards any stack dumps that may occur if it is running in other script heavy areas.
Dynamic Stealth is an unreleased beta of a mod by fadingsignal who has given me permission to have the download link here. It does the same thing as Immersive Detection of NPCs but it updates as you cross cells instead of constantly having a script running which makes it much more reliable and compatible and doesn't risk stalling your papyrus engine.

Thanks for that Info! I've just checked my mod list but couldn't find any Mod altering any mountain cliffs. I had Northfires dirtcliff texture installed and deinstalled it again, maybe something that went wrong there? gonna reinstall it and see if it does anything.

Edit : Nope, still nothing.

Thanks for the warning, i installed the mod you linked. Seems to be in beta but overall, from what i could read, is stable and good enough to replace immersive detection,. :) Edit : Also i'm on W10.

Yeah I also used that mod as well dynamic stealth does exactly the same been using it for awhile too without issue. Oh okay well with windows 10 you kinda have a performance disadvantage because with Windows 10 you can only use 4064 ram+vram and if you go over that limit then you'll get crashes this can happen especially if you have alot of encounters on the roads for example so I was just wondering if it could possible be a memory crash but i doubt it. Windows 7 can use unlimited resources with dx11 who knows why its capped on windows 10.

Just go to your enblocal.ini i think and look for something called autodetectsettings and set it to true.

Northfire's Dirtcliffs are just textures, no plugin, no meshes. That mod won't give a meshes-warning from Crash Fixes.

BTW, looking at the loadorder I would think Unique Flowers & Plants to be a serious problematic candidate. It alters landscape and overwrites several Hearthfire edits and I wouldn't be surprised if it also conficts with Cutting Room Floor.

When you uninstall Unique Flowers & Plants, are you then still crashing?
