New PC build, odd issue.

Hey all just got a new Nvidia 1070. So I have been upgrading visual mods and the like. My issue is my FPS seems to be capped at 51.3?

Doesn't matter where I stand, even if I go to qasmoke and turn off ENB it will not go past 51.3. Any idea what would be causing this?

Secondly was running around whiterun and stood on the stairs looking down during a rain storm with ENB. Tanks my FPS to like 30, however my GPU is only running at like 30%. What gives?

This might be a dumb reply did you up date off a CD disc . Have you updated online via Nvidia . I am running a low price GT 730 4GB and I had this problem till I up dated my G card runs sweet now . I also Favorited my Skyrim game with Nvidia .

Keeping drivers up to date helps a bit, However i have a 1080 Ftw and I keep it capped at 60 and see some decent drops throughout skyrim consistently. It really depends on what kind of Graphical mods you're running as well. Because of how the game is built it really doesn't matter how good of a card you have in my experience, it will play like crap with enb and hd textures. I don't think theres anything wrong with your GPU.

Since you say you've been upgrading your Skyrim with visual mods, it's safe to assume you have an ENB.  51.3fps is definitely a strange number though.  What does it say under [LIMITER] in your enblocal.ini in you Skyrim installation?

For example, mine says:

[LIMITER]
WaitBusyRenderer=false
EnableFPSLimit=true
FPSLimit=60.0

I can't remember for sure but I think leaving Vsync ON will also halve your framerate to some weird number.  Could be worth a check.  There are three places to toggle Vsync.  iPresentinterval in SkyrimPrefs.ini, there's EnableVSync in enblocal.ini, and finally there's the Nvidia Control Panel where you can set specific instructions exclusively to a program, in this case:  Skyrim.

Lastly, make sure your Nvidia Share settings are not conflicting with Skyrim.  I normally turn Nvidia Share off because it's rarely useful except for recording Overwatch POTGs.

Have the exact same lines under Limiter in my enblocal.ini.

Vsync is set to application control in Nvidia Control panel, and Vsyns is off in both Skyrim inis.

Its odd that the FPS doesn't jump up when you disable the ENB as i would expect that to happen myself, is this on an save game or a new game?

Have you amended skyrim.ini at all to give more time to papyrus?

Completely new game that I created just for running around checking stability and mod conflicts.

My Skyrim.inis I newly generated and only put in the edits needed for ENB, so no papyrus is default.

Weirdly it seems to have resolved itself. I am getting 60fps today :s

I disabled and renabled hdt so maybe it was something to do with that. Just really weird that it was locked to 51.3 fps no matter what was on screen or what I was doing.
