Good Unarmed Combat Mods?

Greetings,

 

Are there any good mods for unarmed combat as a viable play-through style. Stability and compatibility are primary concerns, naturally enough, and I have a bias toward simplicity. I'm not especially interested in making combat more difficult.

 

Mostly, I'm curious and thinking about different approaches to playthroughs. I've read through a number of descriptions of mods that claim to do something along these lines, but it's sometimes difficult (for me) to know what's going on from that.

I've found a few that would support an unarmed monk type combat style but I haven't tried any of them.

 

There are two that offer kicks instead of blocks for two and one handed weapons, and another that uses those kicks as power attacks for unarmed.  While they look good, the animation system does not allow for moving while kicking and I haven't looked enough or tried the other kicks - you seem to have less reach with unarmed and that makes it hard to break a block with a power attack.

 

Some of the monk mods list using fist weapons as a way to get around some of the limitations, I guess. They level one handed skills so you can still level and can apply fire/frost/shock/etc damage that you normally cannot do.

 

If you haven't tried any of these, I think I can find the links I looked at.

I use Way of the Monk, One Handed Fists, Unarmed Helper, and Cleric. I'd do links, but I'm lazy at the moment.

Oh yeah, Way of the monk was one I looked at and said "nope!" thinking it was way tooo complex.

 

Fists looks interesting. Will probably try that one.

 

Helper also looks interesting but more gimicky than I want for my game. I've already edited the Fists of Steel perk and a few other things he did.

 

Not sure that Cleric fits on unarmed combat lists, but I guess the monk concept lends itself toward weaponless characters
