I'm not sure how it's done on a modded switch exactly, but I've modded the switch version of storm connections on an emulator.
Here's what I've done:
- I dumped the game files after installing all the patches.
- I unpacked sound.cpk in "romfs/data/patch/160" using YaCpkTool by dragging the cpk file into the tool's exe.
- Inside the unpacked folder there should be another folder called "data", open it then create a folder called "spc" then inside the spc folder you put the xfbin files there.
This is what the final path should look like sound\data\spc\
- Once you're done, you should repack the the unpacked folder (sound in this case) by dragging and dropping the folder into YaCpk.
- To install the repacked cpk on an emulator, you have to open the mod data folder in your emulator then make a new folder with any name you want ("MyMod" for example).
- Inside the new folder you created (MyMod in this case), you have to create this path "romfs\data\patch\160\"
- Now copy the new sound.cpk into the newly created path ("MyMod\romfs\data\patch\160\sound.cpk").

The last few steps might be a little different on a modded switch but as long as you can find the game files and replace them, it should be possible.
