If they could (highly doubtful) that would be a huge blow to the MPAA and the like. I would personally love to see it happen but the odds are better for me winning the lotto...

gregathit Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 The FBI doesn't "have" to turn the equipment back over in the state that it was taken as there is nothing to "force" them to do so. Since you can't sue the federal government unless they give you permission to (which of course they won't) you are SOL! International court "could" rule against the US but it would be only a symbolic thing as the international court has no ability to "enforce" its rulings. Basically the whole thing is going to be on the "honor system" and when the MPAA and its cronies are involved there won't be any "honor" to be found. They are scumbags to the extent that they make other criminals look like honest blokes. My bet is they will return the drives after scrubbing them of anything that remotely looks like it might be a copyright violation just to please the MPAA and the others.
deathparade Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 If i heard correctly they copied all the shit and they will probably as we all remember the CIA and FBI keep the files even though as it's all illegal (Yes by now if you say that the USA is a true free country you are a retard no offence) i hope they bring em back up it's a good service to upload to and i've seen enough dead megaupload links to stuff i kinda needed or wanted! Also suggestion: IF we do get all our shit back, BACK THAT SHIT UP! and good too if you deem it important enough!

I remember a few years back reading about many start up companies being taken down with nothing more than the FBI saying that so and so had used that server and was linked to a terrorist group or that something illegal had passed over those servers or whatever. Lots of really kewl stuff just gets shot down under the radar here, bankrupting good people and preventing anything that might not be government control friendly. So sad to think about.
