Can armour pieces show on char without equiping it?

Can armour and clothes be shown on the charactor without them being equiped and taking up an armor slot?

 

I have a follower mod that allows me to command people just by placing an item in there inventory. Is it possible to have armour pieces show up just by having an item, meaning i could have 2 or more pieces of clothing or armour on that use the same slot (even just for the visuals, not the stats). 

Or maybe a toggleable aid item that would show/unshow armour (bullet time uses this).

The engine in Skyrim requires equipment to be assigned at least 1 of the body slots in order to render on that character. It's possible to equip items that aren't assigned one of these slots, and gain the pieces of equipments benefits, but it won't render on the character.

u can always merge them into 1 nif file.

Replace your female body files with a outfit/armor nif files make sure to rename them to your body file names and then you will not have to equip anything.
