700 Tnega Terces Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I have a female body from Oblivion that I REALLY want to use in Skyrim. To preempt any objections, yes I know about bodyslider and all of the many, MANY, different bodies already available on Skyrim. I Want This One. I specifically like the shape, spacing, and definition (as well as the size) of the breasts on this body and nothing else I've seen anywhere comes close enough to suit me. The problem is getting this body from an Oblivion skeleton to a Skyrim skeleton without ruining it. I've gotten it into the proper Skyrim pose position. I've adjusted the arms and legs to match up smoothly to Skyrim hands and feet. I've merged the upper and lower body meshes into a single piece. I've put back in the dismemberment vertexes (BP_TORSO, BP_RIGHTARM, and BP_LEFTLEG). It's weighted, textured, and UV mapped, but I didn't do those parts so I don't know whether or not they're correct. As far as I can tell, all that is left is attaching it to a Skyrim skeleton. However, I know NOTHING about rigging, porting this body to Skyrim has been my intro into using Blender and messing about with 3D stuff in general. I've spent DAYS on this project, my patience is almost dry, I just want it over and done with! I would be eternally grateful if someone could: A) Rig the body mesh to a universal Skyrim skeleton. Show me how to get a Skyrim body to look EXACTLY like mine (remember, it's not the size, but the shape that I most love). I've attached both a picture of the body and my blender file. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! full body hfob dmra skyrim.blend.zip
wishnot4 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I took a quick look at your file. First, you used the newer blender. While there are some nif import/export scripts for it, everything (in my opinion) works better in the older 2.49b version of blender. Second, you must load in a body that has the skeleton rigged to it so you can get weights onto your body. Either the vanilla(which I don't think would work for your purposes) or a bodyslide version that is close to yours. Here is a link to a few tutorials I made for this a while back, I've been told they are really easy to follow. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/68977-silly-little-request-about-the-jagged-crown/ It's at the end of the thread.

In the tutorials I was following I was suggested that it was easiest to use Blender 2.49 to import export nif files, and the latest blender to actually work on said meshes. I wasn't even aware that there were any nif import/export plugins for anything after 2.49! As for the skeleton, I did a little searching, do I want to use Groovtama's XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended?!? I can find that skeleton easily enough, but where do I find a body that already has that skeleton rigged to it?!?
yatol Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 It's weighted, textured, and UV mapped, but I didn't do those parts so I don't know whether or not they're correct. As far as I can tell, all that is left is attaching it to a Skyrim skeleton. if you have snap the arms to fit skyrim hands, it isn't harder to copy paste morphs on a skyrim body -you want a skyrim body similar to the one you want to have less stuff to mess with, chbsomething isn't far away to that oblivion body, if what you have in data\textures\actors\char\female\femalebody.dds is compatible -import it in blender, with its skeleton, you will need that to export the nif -give it a material, pick a random image, select uv map -in f9, on the right, there's something with armature, add a skinwrap -right of obj, if oblivion mesh is called x, type x -this apply oblivion morphs to that mesh don't apply anything, morph copy can't do miracles either you edit skyrim body to make it closer to oblivion body for skinwrap to do a better job either you delete some parts from oblivion body to not mess with those parts on skyrim body easier and faster than trying to learn how to weight, or having to use a custom race to load the oblivion textures of that body
700 Tnega Terces Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 UPDATE: I just got my hands on 3ds Max and was thinking of using it instead since it seemed like the process should be easier (after I spent a couple hours installing and uninstalling Max 2017 and then installing Max 2016 and the plugin) as I wouldn't be messing around with old program versions for my nif import/export. Plus Max supports Skyrim's nif format natively. Of course, now I need a tutorial on how to either copy the bone weights and attach a Skyrim skeleton to my preferred body, or alter an existing Skyrim body to look just like my preferred body. For the first route I'm assuming that I want to use XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended, but what body should I use to get the weights and how exactly do I go about doing it? For route two I do have a Skyrim body that is similar (but not enough so) to my preferred body, but I don't know how to skinwrap it or whatever to reshape the Skyrim body to look just like mine. Now I have spent several hours trying to get either one of these approaches to work, without success, which is why I'm back here again. My attempts at skinwrapping either make it look like my preferred body was being attacked by a slime monster, or nothing happened. Nor did I get anywhere trying to copy bone weights from either the similar Skyrim body or a CBBE body. I really have no idea what I'm doing, so could someone please fix this for me?!? I'm attaching both the nif of the similar Skyrim body and a new nif of my preferred body I created in Max after experiencing technical issues with the old one. full body hfbo drma 2.nif femalebody_0.nif
