Silly little request about the jagged crown

Hi guys I try my hardest to avoid making requests and I try to do things myself, but I have a slight problem...

I'm trying to remove the top cranial? bit of the jagged crown, to kinda make it into a circlet lookalike... but I cant get it to load into blender no matter what I do...

I was wondering if anyone would like to lend me a hand and just remove this part for me

As I cant do it myself :(

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks.

PS. Also I only wanted the female human crown to be like this, makes it easier.

Okay, here it is.  Though, I'm more interested in figuring out why you couldn't load it into blender.  Were you following the correct procedures?  Do you have all the import scripts?  Are you using the best version of blender for importing nif's (blender 2.49b)?  Anyway, here's the crown, I set the dismemberment slot to 142(circlet), if that's not the one you want you can easily change that in nifskope.

I believe I do have the import nif and export nif scripts, the version I have of blender is 2.49.2... I have no idea why it wont work but I've always had problems with blender and skyrim... used to use it all the time for oblivion.

I just opened blender and tried to import the nif using the scripts? which worked for oblivion nif files. I dont know :/

But thank you so much for helping me with this, I really appreciate it :)

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it and it works correctly for you.

Did you make sure to prepare the nif first in nifskope?  You must reset the user version 12 to version 11, and user version 83 to version 34.  And you must delete all shaders.  Also, it's always best to save the edited nif with a different name than the original, what I usually do is name it blend(original name). That way I can easily find what I need. And of course you will have to prepare the blender exported nif for skyrim.  I have a fairly easy to follow tutorial I wrote for a  friend, if you are interested I could send it to you.

It works perfectly :) and yes please, all this sounds quite a lot to take in lol :P Skyrim sure is more complicated then Oblivion.

I'll have to give myself some time and a clean head to read through the tutorial.

Thanks.

Sure, I'll send it right away. And yeah, modding in for Skyrim can be difficult at times.  The funny thing is, I've become pretty good and I've been modding less than 2 years now.  For example, it took me no more than 10 minutes to make that crown, and some of that time was actually getting the file from the bsa and getting it's textures so I could see what needed to be removed.

Okay, while the tutorial is fairly easy, it is a little long.  I wrote it as if the reader had never really messed with any of the tools and I touch on a few advanced things(that's sort of my specialty).  I'm one of the co-authors of Beasts of Tamriel, Sea of Spirits, The Witches Festival, The Gorgon Race, and The Tsaesci Race. You might have guessed I like to stay busy.

Necro post, but did this mod ever get finished? I've been looking for something like that for a VERY long time. I hate that the Jagged Crown is just a helmet.

It's not a mod, but I did include the working model.  Just have to replace the vanilla model with the link above.
