Sparowe Chan Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Hi! I have been trying to figure out how to port a mod from Fallout 4 to Skyrim and haven't had any luck in doing so. I'm hoping/praying, that somebody can possibly port/convert a hair mod for me. Links are below to the FO4 port and also the original mod itself, which happens to be from Skyrim but I haven't had luck with getting the hair from the Skyrim mod to show up in character creation. Also there's little bit at the end of my topic regarding a character preset that I was trying to convert from ECE > RaceMenu that's an optional download for the "Ghosts of Skyrim SAC" mod. This is the hair mod in question: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13630/? "Motoko Hair" (Ghost In The Shell/The Major/Motoko Kusanagi). A: There's another mod for Skyrim http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72870/? "Ghosts of Skyrim SAC Clothes" that already has this hair style as part of the mod, it's also the original version of the "Motoko Hair" mod used for Fallout 4 and was ported from this mod. B: As far as the Skyrim mod itself, I haven't been able to figure out how to add just the hair style from it to show up in the character creation screen. I'm assuming it's probably an equipable piece of armor, which isn't what I'm looking for. I'd still like to be able to equip armor for the head slot without losing my hair. I tried extracting just the files regarding the hair and adding them to my game but that didn't work, most likely because it needs the esp file, which I also tried including but didn't find the hair style in the creation screen. I'm thinking the easiest way of getting the hair style into my game is to just reverse engineer the "Motoko Hair" mod from Fallout 4 back into Skyrim. There are very little tutorials on YouTube or anywhere really that I could find involving creating custom hairstyles or porting them from FO4 to Skyrim. If I simply missed one and anybody happens to know of a good link to one please let me know? Lastly, in regards to ECE > Racemenu Presets. The Skyrim mod "Ghosts of Skyrim SAC Clothes" has an optional download for a character preset for "The Major/Motoko Kusanagi" that's for ECE (Enhanced Character Edit). From what I've read I should be able to just import the preset into racemenu to get face and then from there I'd just have to edit the hair and eyes to my liking. This doesn't work though The download for the preset just comes with a ".slot" file with no ".nif" file. So I assume I'd have to deactivate Racemenu, then install ECE, load the preset up in ECE and then export from ECE. Then deactivate ECE and reactivate RaceMenu and import the head? I know this is somewhat of a long post and to me, seems like a lot to ask just for a wig and pretty face but it would mean a lot if somebody could help me out. I've practically pulled my own hair out trying to do this over the weekend. I've personally never requested to have a mod converted or ported over and would usually just find something else and forget it.

Now working in game without any issues Was looking over some stuff about hair physics and will post back my attempt at making her bangs HDT enabled Also going to whip up some badass new eyes tonight too! Just trying to finalize what color (think she only ever had 3-4 different colors) of hers I will eventually wind up with haha! Also I used the ECE face preset from the "Ghosts of Skyrim SAC Armor" mod for her face. I did forget to to some personal adjustments while I still had ECE activated, since I use RaceMenu naturally. There's a few particular pieces of artwork of her done by Stanley Lau aka. "Artgerm" that I really love that I'll be using as my inspiration. They're on his DeviantArt page if anybody's interested. He's a great artist!

I honestly think I'm making it harder than it actually is, but I still know very little about rigging meshes or anything related to character modeling that isn't just textures. I only really started to get into meshes because I wanna start making my own armor/armor mashups/weapons/hair/etc. (mostly because after playing the witcher and the new tomb raiders and seeing the hair in those games sort of blew me away haha!) I think it can be done for Skyrim, but to an extent, meaning A LOT less hair strands lol. I downloaded Nvidia Hairworks and Physx Plugins, but for now I'm just going to stick with the basic stuff, probably give up on HDT Hair for now to get more comfortable with working with rugging meshes and such for now. =)
idle Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I converted ECE to RM this way: -Loaded the ECE preset and saved the game -Install and activate RM -Load the savegame - the character is still looking the same -Export NIF from RM
