nehaberlan Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Hi, I play the Skyrim Legendary Version. My problem is when my PC runs for a while the game stops for a blink of eye. There is no CTD. My computer has: Operating System Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1CPU AMD FX-8300 Vishera 32nm TechnologyRAM 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (11-11-11-28)Motherboard MSI 970A-G43 (MS-7693) (CPU 1)Graphics LG IPS FULLHD (1920x1080@60Hz) 4096MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series (MSI)Storage 238GB TS256GSSD370S ATA Device (SSD) 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00WN4A0 ATA Device (SATA) I don't have many mods. I'm sending you my papyrus.log and my load order. If you can help me anyway, I'll appreciate. Papyrus.0.log.7z My Load Order.7z
Pauduan Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Is the game installed on 1TB harddrive? What is your ugridstoload set at? You can find it is \my documents\my games\skyrim\skyrim.ini The freezing may be due to the game loading content from the harddrive while it has gone into spindown. for very high settings of ugrids you may find the pauses to be quite long. For default settings the pauses should be less, depending on the speed of your harddrive, how long you spend in a cell and what area of the map you are in. Reducing the detail of the distance views may help bit - but not much.

My game is in the C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\ folder. I just start "Alternate Start - Live Another Life". My D: Partition 1 TB. SATA HD's speed is 7200 rpm. My C: Partition SSD is the HD that the game has been installed. My computer is new. I use a Avast Free Antivirus. I disabled it, or I keep it in game mode. It didn't solve my problem. Another thing: I notice that there is a file named: vcredist_x86.exe in the C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\VCRedist\ folder. But, my computer is Win 7 64 bit. Do I need to install "vcredist_x64.exe" file? Maybe, replacing the vcredist_x86.exe by the vcredist_x64.exe? Skyrim.ini.7z

I checked from Low to Ultra. It mostly recognizable in Ultra mode. Sorry, I haven't thought that. But, my graphic card is Graphics Chipset AMD Radeon R9 380 Series. As I know, it's pretty good enough for the game. Maybe, with some settings and/or mods, I can get good graphic settings without problems. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks...
Pauduan Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 This is quite normal for ugrids to load at default, which is 5. SSD should not have any lag at all, but I've never installed the game on one so can't be totally sure. If you use lots of high resolution texture mods, NPC texture replacers (which will not show on your load order), you will get freezes as the cells load. You can try raising ugrids to 7 or 9 along with associated changes in the .ini file, this will load more cells into memory at once. This may make matters better or worse and is a pretty permanent change (which means saves made after raising the value will not load if you lower the value again), so test it thoroughly. higher ugrids may make the game freeze less, but if you make lots of cell transitions quickly it will make your overall game slower. You should also add you Skyrim install directory in Avast 'Exclusions' list. You can find it under the File System shield customisation menu. This will lsightly reduce the freezes, but not much. Walking instead of running and looking at the sky instead of straight ahead will help somewhat but are hardly practical. And yes, ENBs can make the problem worse. I use an old machine with a 7750 1Gb card, no ENBs and no texture mods, and I get hardly any freezing at 1920x1200 and ugrids at 7. My friend runs a pair of 770s in SLI on the same monitor at 2560x1600 with heavy ENB and he gets some freezing. Needless to say that install is totally tricked out, with tons of mods, the very punishing TCF resolution pack, and 4k to 8k textures on every NPC. He also crashes more. A LOT more.
nehaberlan Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 I don't use ENB, because I have no idea how to setup it up. I have to understand how to setup ugrids first. I'll try what you suggest. Thanks...
