Ratphlegm Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I use a ton of modded followers in my games but my comp isn't that great, so I like to move them into various homes, so no one place gets too overpopulated with NPCs and their textures/scripts/spell processes. I've tried quite a lot of player home mods and really like the way the Underground Bathhouse lets you assign whatever follower you want to a guard role, basic resident role, throw them in the dungeon, or even replace their basic default residents. And the people you assign will even move between cells within the home areas, which gives it a significant immersion boost (even if it doesn't really fit with Skyrim's weather). So I was curious if there are other homes/castles/whatever that have good NPC liveliness, have assigned NPC roles AND let you fill their NPC's roles yourself? I currently have the following home mods installed: Azura's Dawn: cool, but there are several cells and the NPC's won't move between them Daedric, Solstice, Skystone and Winterstone Castles: all great-looking, but have large highly decorated cells (rough on my toaster), and NPC's won't move between them. Dragon Falls Manor: Looks nice, but is small with poor NPC action. Halls of Dovahndor: Huge, pretty awesome stuff, but has tons of NPC's in the main areas. Private quarters is decent for a follower home though. Leaf Rest: Looks really nice, but there is only 1 bed. Rayeks End: Same. Redoran Manor: I want to like this one a lot, but the follower pool area seems buggy. Sjel Blad Castle: This place has some really cool features, but the implementation is a bit unfriendly, and for me, there are just wayyy too many included NPC's... now, if this place had features like UBH, it would be absolutely incredible. The ability to duel your own followers... can only imagine how much of a pain that would be to program. Skyfall Estate: I use this place as my general home and follower-dress-up location. Lots of things for NPC's to do here, but I try not to keep many living there since I bring a lot of people through. The Library of Paarthurnax: This place looks awesome, but I haven't tried having followers live here yet and it's a bit taxing on my comp since it's so huge and open with tons of objects. The Silver Citadel: Pretty basic home, but has beds and all the necessities, plus the added "feature" of having random road patrolling NPC's walking through it from time to time. Are you finished ogling the grotesque? Vjarkell Castle: Pretty cool looking place, but the followers don't move between cells and their movement within their specified cell isn't great.
thesteve812 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I like Blackthorn http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65839/? You can build and furnish what you want. Doesn't have a pool though.
karlpaws Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 For you "don't move between the rooms" problems, have you tried any of the follower or my home is your home style mods to give them day and night cells? I used one like that for the Skystone/Winterstone style places and that worked. Put a few vampires in the basement just for good measure.

Totally forgot MHIYH could do that, thanks for the reminder! I used to use MHIYH in previous playthroughs but uninstalled it when I decided to try out EFF for this one (for easy racemenu access) which has its own home-setting options. I've been having some issues lately with EFF though, perhaps tried to set too many homes than it can handle, followers began to just not stay at their assigned home, and I'm not a huge fan of how it removes everyone's clothes when they're not following you. I really like the force follow setting it has for getting custom voiced followers to behave, and easily change their outfits (compared to UFO which I used previously). Anyway, I also have "The Manipulator" installed which can handle the racemenu access for followers as well as several other things, I've reinstalled MHIYH and might try ditching EFF soon and going back to UFO. AFT also looks cool, but has a limit of 64 followers it can handle, which is... much less than the number I have installed. I like Blackthorn http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65839/? You can build and furnish what you want. Doesn't have a pool though. I'm not really big on buildable places, but will give it a look. Don't really care about having a pool or not, just need living and sleeping spaces that I can assign mod followers to, that they will hopefully go about their "lives" in.

It doesn't strip, but does have outfit options: city, normal and home. Home and City have had problems, if you don't give them weapons, if bandits or vampires attack. If you haven't, check into the Manipulator's Harem features. It also sets a day and night location, and that can also help people move from cell to cell. I think you have to assign some people to individual cells first, then move to your 2nd house and set that as the global harem site, put people there, assign them there individually, etc. Might need to check its support thread for sure.
MortiferusX Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 In BBLS you can invite up to 25 Followers without My Home is Your Home. Invited Followers have their own AI and can go outside or downstairs in the Basement without any commands.
Rokabur Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 That's one of the things I loved about the Underground Bathhouse. Fill it with sexy female Argonians and tell them to be nude all the time. Only downside to Bathhouse is I don't like the dungeon area and depending on the mods I'm using, entering the master bedroom can cause Skyrim to crash. So which follower mod(s) is overall the best and which player homes can store a decent number of followers and are decently beautiful? I don't really like the dark gloomy player homes too much. I don't/won't use BBLS cause sometimes the NPC's won't work correctly. Missing dialogue options at times mostly, plus can't replace the default NPC's with better Argonians far as i know and I have no idea how to use the CK to change the NPC's to Argonians.

Right... I downloaded Manipulator initially for the harem features, but once I had it installed and looked them over, I saw it would automatically set everyone to the same home, which my computer cannot deal with. I like that it can make everyone lovers, but I can do that myself with the console using bat files I've created by pulling everyone's refID's from a funclist save... took more time than clicking a button, and I have to be careful with my load order positioning, but I don't have to deal with conflicting home markers... hopefully. In BBLS you can invite up to 25 Followers without My Home is Your Home. Invited Followers have their own AI and can go outside or downstairs in the Basement without any commands. BBLS was the first home I downloaded and frequently used when I started playing, but eventually I deleted it since I couldn't replace the default npc's and I kept taking all the respawning ore from the basement and overleveling my smithing too fast. It's been over a year since I used it though, so if someone's updated it with the ability to replace the default npc's with your own, that would be amazing.

valcon767 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 some notes that may help (or may not) Blackthorn (linked previously) is an actual village (lots of different homes you can assign people to), and other mods by the same mod maker could work as well. another pair of mods you might like are the Guildmaster mods (one by Socko and another by Yakusai). https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52871 - Socko's https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75110 - Yakusai's both require a "home base" (you assign it) and can handle 10 NPCs for Socko's and 30 NPCs for Yakusai's for a total of 40 NPCs (and neither would use regular follower slots if recruited thru the individual mod mechanics). also you may want to check out Tundra Defense https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22330/ not to mention this one (has not been updated in a while and i do not know how good it is) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50097/ Campfire with the Hearth Craft addon may be useful as well https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64798/ https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71371/ hope the information is helpful
thesteve812 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Thanks, I've never tried Tundra Defense. I playing a bandit start and changing faction of guards, so my bandit followers don't attack each other. Don't know how it will play out though.
