I want to record my moded skyrims gameplay, maybe upload it somewhere. I'm thinking about using OBS, since I'm using it to stream games however, it can't really record 60 fps in 1080p without becoming a choppy mess.

My PC is pretty good, so I don't think my PC will bottleneck. What software would you suggest for this?

I use nvidia shadowplay @1080p 60fps and can't really complain. Although one downside is that it doesn't capture my color 100% correctly, I guess this is because of ENB.

There are some good reviews about Tetrachromatic ENB having good capture quality (color seems to be near exact same after it renders), but this is just something I heard.

It uses .308, the newest software for ENB out there as of 11/12/2016.

I absolutely love it, and it doesn't at all weigh down on my PC, its more just not loading a shit ton of meshes and complicated environments (such as Windstad Mine or Whiterun + Open Cities).

Otherwise, I wouldn't really trust this fully, so do not quote me.

But it is worth a try, unless you already use it.

OBS, fraps, camtasia are some good ones ive used in the past

also if ur streaming in 60 and its crappy just run it in 30fps

Fraps makes files that would fill me 2TB drive in seconds.

Camtasia is great, but it kind of feels like using a botched android application.

OBS is great, but I've had problems, but I still use it, since the files aren't too big and impact is much less than most games.

I use bandicam for recording. Best program, i have ever seen. The only one unpleasant moment i noticed is, colors a slightly dull after recording. But otherwise is just great.

Have you tried dropping the Fraps video size down? I found that to be one of the easier ways to reduce filesize.

You can use Handbrake to convert video files to other formats as well. I don't know if you may need extra codecs for some formats or not though.
