Schrodinger's Trap Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Now that this has happened. Anyone got an older copy of the Creation Kit.
Trykz Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Confirmed..... ALL of my race mods are now broken after I JUST fixed the mounted combat issue. This is getting pretty pathetic. Every update to either the game OR Creation Kit introduces new screwups, and breaks THOUSANDS of mods. Do they REALLY test this shit before they just shove it off to Steam? Or do they ONLY take feedback from the fanbois who kiss their ass and never play games with mods? Trykz
roy12 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I created a topic on this at the Bahthasdah forums. I'm really, really pissed off at this shit: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1383701-custom-bodies-bug/
Queen Bee Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Are they serious? Don't they know the majority of people who play this game play for the mods?
GSBmodders Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 bugs screwups and Bethesda go hand in hand, this the reason why I gave skyrim a two year wait before I play or mod for it. I refuse to go through the same crap I experienced with Oblivion. Breaking everything at once though is I think a new record for Beth
Clarkson Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Its always the best games that have the most problems:(
Mouldy Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 this sucks, http://205.196.123.155/3kau0ugd93cg/rhefb8nz21lcxa9/TESV_CreationKit_v1.5.24.0.7z seems to work for me with steam set to offline mode, i found it on a warez site so you might want to virus scan and take other security precautions (im running it in a clean VM) but it works fine for me at least. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1383060-creation-kit-16910-now-live-on-steam/page__view__findpost__p__20975977 this post has the files that you need to revert with the ones from the zip always a sign of quality when warez versions are required to use your legal copy
Oaklore Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Sheogorath is the Daedric Prince of Bethesda Quality Control, and everyone that lets Steam update automatically has been Wabbajacked!
Trykz Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Sheogorath is the Daedric Prince of Bethesda Quality Control' date=' and everyone that lets Steam update automatically has been Wabbajacked![/b'] Modders don't really have a choice in the matter. If we want our shit to keep working for everyone, we HAVE to update BOTH the game and the CK, so we can fix the shit that Bethesda breaks. Otherwise we get a gazillion Nextards crying about how our stuff is "poor quality", and doesn't work properly. Trykz

I can't imagine anyone that dared say your mods were of "poor quality" as being worthy of sharing the fruits of your extensive spare-time labour in the first place. Being guarded and protective of your work, wary of untested changes, and distrustful of mod-breaking Steam updates (which I've experienced plenty of myself when modding for the Total War series only to find the new overnight update absolutely destroyed 2 months or more of work) is your right. Other people's use of your mods is a privilege of your generosity for which they should be grateful.

Which is pretty much why I don't put my stuff on Nexus anymore Most of them are just leeches that repeatedly ask stupid questions on the comments page, that were usually already answered on the description page or in the readme.txt file that any good modder will usually include. I always post any important changes or instructions right in the description. Which is why my mod releases usually start with "READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLATION!!!" In any event, they'll hopefully sort this fast, before too many more modders bail on their games. Trykz
Mashi Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 CK is updated before anyone else's head explodes. Though if it fixes the body bug I don't know, but I was able to update my mods with it today.
