I suppose I'm not alone with those :

 

Missing eyeballs

No eyes in face/body preview but here in worldspace windows, tried to extract, maybe see with another skeleton

 

Memory crash

With black screen, often when you're working into worldspace

 

Must be something wrong with preview windows and eyes meshes.

The eye meshes are there but the render window isn't rendering them skinned.  You get the same thing if you open the exported head nif in the latest experimental NifSkope, until you turn on skinning.  Also, the head meshes (and DDS textures) are getting auto-exported into folders named after your plugin, not the original plugin if you are altering vanilla characters.  SSE appears to find them there, which would be great for avoiding the grey face bug, because you could just change load order to fix it.  However, the exported faces are all black.  You can instead export using the old <ctrl-F4>, which would put the head nifs in the proper original plugin's folder, but they will still be all black.  Oddly, if you then overwrite those files with original head meshes made for the old game, they are not all black and they work, albeit, with missing hair and eyeballs geometry.  I've got about a dozen hours into trying to figure out how to convert my old characters and it is really a grind so far.

 

There are significant differences between SSE head nifs and the old game's head nifs.
