Avahashija Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Hi all, attached is a screenshot. The "pixalation" under the light green area. Can it improved with Settings of the ENB? Can it improved with general Graphic Settings? Would a "better" Graphic Card minimize this "pixalation"? I think about a "better" Graphic Card in the moment to minimize this - but i do not know if this helps... thanks for hints on this Problem. Ava
monsterseventeen Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 what graphics card do you have now? looking at that picture it is an anti aliasing setting in my guess, looks like it might be switched off. the more powerful your graphics card the higher settings like anti aliasing, anisotropic filtering, draw distance etc can be set, playing with these settings 'til you find the right balance for your card can be tricky, but i'd start with anti aliasing it seems to make the most noticable difference.
Wast1980 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 The pixelation is caused by the Godrays Quality setting (Launcher setup), if you set it to ultra quality you won't have this, but depending on your spec it will have a noticeable performance impact. This "Fix" might help: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15211/?
Avahashija Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Hi all, thanks for this help - i will check it. I have in the moment an ATI Radeon 7800 - so midsize - i want to go for a gforce 1060....
Karna5 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 i want to go for a gforce 1060.... Oddly Nvidia isn't listing all the specs for the 1060. I use a Geforce 980Ti in 4k resolution all ultra and have no problems at all, though I do drop the Godrays usually as they're a lot of overhead for little return. As far as I can tell the 1060 might be half the power of the 980Ti, and that would be okay if so because playing at 4K requires 4 times the power playing at 1080p requires. If you're playing 1080p I think you'll be okay with 1060. This said, if you can get a 1070, you should probably go for that. 1070 can do just about anything you would want, especially at 1080p resolutions.
Avahashija Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 hmm.... with my 7800 radeon i have with 4k resolution, enb and reshade - 20fps - i can live with that.... seems the 1060 is ok then....

I've tested both the 1060 and 1080 and I wouldn't recommend anything above the 1060 for only 1080p gaming. Even the 1050ti can run most AAA titles with high/max settings at 1080p with a nice 60+ fps.

Hey ph4ntom5, what kinda fps do you get in 4k with that 980ti? Hi, Firebird V. I used the steam overlay to check that yesterday because I was curious, too. I get a solid 30 FPS (even if I'm recording simultaneously using Nvidia Shadowplay, too). My monitor is capped at 30 FPS when using 4K resolution, so the graphics card and/or game is being smart and efficient and not trying to render more than my monitor can display. It's very smooth, and I don't get frame drops even though I have more than 200 mods and keep everything ultra except for god rays (which hurt performance and don't really look good for normal play). I tested overclocking and noted I could get a large performance boost (off memory I think it was nearly 20%), but I ended up turning off the overclocking because I don't need it. Out of the box the 980 Ti does Fallout 4, Mafia 3, Assassin's creed syndicate and anything else last generation I throw at it just fine. Please note that when I first went to this card I was getting screen blanking which puzzled me for a long time until my girlfriend figured out for me that I was using a standard HDMI cable which is not capable of the bandwidth necessary for what I was doing. Upgrading to HDMI2 cable completely solved that problem (and led me to disabling overclocking).

Guest Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Oh ok, thanks ph4ntom5. In Fallout I just get the weirdest fps issues, so I'm always curious of what others get in terms of performance. I play in 2k and in random parts of the world I get drops down to 50 and it boggles my mind. I have everything on ultra except for shadow distance which is at 7000 and numerous texture mods. Everything else I play seems to work fine though, it's very odd. I know the FO4 engine is just bad but it's frustrating. Sorry for thread jacking and thanks for the info, I'm actually going to try heaven bench marking out, I forgot all about it.
