I was hoping someone could give me some idea's on what I am doing wrong.

What I am presently trying to do is remove a section of an armour I downloaded. The armur in question has two parts, an upper and a lower, and I was hoping to be able to remove the lower part and keep only the upper aspect. In the past when I have had armor sets with intergrated panties, I have just deleted the data in Nifskope that corresponed with that part of the mesh and it's worked perfectly, but now that I am trying to domething a little larger it is also making my characters legs disappear. Can anyone help me figure out what else I have to do to get this to work.

I am, by no means an expert in this, but you might have to go into the CK and change some settings.  If you open up the armour in question, in the Biped  Object window you will see what body slots the armour is supposed to cover. For example the blades cuirass has 32 body, 34 forearms and 38 calves highlighted. What I think you need to do is de-select the calves. If this armour is part of an outfit, you will have to change the settings to match, as well. I hope this helps.

Chances are if the legs are missing it is because there isn't a body under the armor and when you delete the part out it becomes a empty area as there isn't anything under the armor. To test load the nif up into nifskope and right click the outfit parts one at a time and go to block - remove branch and see if there is a body under it or not. If there isn't a body under the armor then you will have to add one.
