Good heights/tower climbing game?

Just what the topic says. Anyone know of a good game about climbing up to really high places, to see some awesome views or such? I was watching a Youtuber play a game about giant machines, and climbed one of those giant excavators, which seemed cool, but the only game I really own with lots of heights and a good view is Skyrim, and those LOD's don't look so good from the top of the Throat of the World, which is all I got... and even then it's one clear path up to the top.

 

I poked around on Steam, and saw Everest VR, but I don't own a Vive, and... well, the game is apparently 30 minutes long for $20 and is mostly a fly-by with a narrator babbling at you.

 

Anyone know of any GOOD games with some great heights to fuck around at? Preferably not something dystopian... I wanna be up high and see something PRETTY, not a wasteland.

 

WARNING: Those with fear of heights should probably not watch these next videos. Crazy tall climbs like this stuff.

I realize that is... strangely specific, but it's just a craving I have today. I would pay for a game of such.

OT (I think)

Microsoft used to have a game called "Flight simulator"

And Originally I had the same idea as you (when PC-AT's still existed)

To go somewhere high and look down.

Ahh, but flying games were boring because they kept wantng to crash and stuff.

Eventually you'd get a level of immersion if everything stood very still, and you didn't move at all.

So umpteen years later I googled the game, and it still exists.

  More to the point, there is a mod at nexus for a hot air balloon.

And if you can get it to actually work, for a few seconds you can look down on stuff from real high up.

But it's (uh) too big for me.

"Nausicaa's tweaker" lets you jump up real high, land on a ledge and stare at the people in whiterun.

Not sure why, but in that imaginary game,

A person climbs stuff and drinks something, getting dizzy, and climbs something else.
