gangstamick Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I don't have the that particular Expansion, But i've read on a a few forums that Isla Paradiso is horribly navmeshed and full of map problems. I do use the China, France, Egypt, University and what ever Main World map fixes with KW and I'm more or less happy with the results. The university map fixes is a definite improvement. Here is the link for ellacharmed's Isla Paradiso world fixes. http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=514909
Zdun Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Another config file you can edit is sim3.cfg in the game/bin directory, there is an entry for [ResourceSystem] MemoryUsageLimit = 20000000 meaning 2gb of ram, change that 2 to whatever half of your total system ram is. 32gb make it an 16, 16gb make it 8, etc. Thank you! I can't seem to find the file though :/ EDIT: Nevermind, found it, thanks a lot buddy! The file name is sim3.ini

I have ini and cfg files associated with notepad and windows calls both configuration files.
JoshQ Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 So I reduced the graphics of my game, and it seems to me that everything works very good, after a whole evening working on improving TS3's performance. My current settings are: https://s17.postimg.org/5u06plpan/image.png Which setting can I further tweak (reduce to improve the performances)? I play TS3 only to enjoy sex animations, so I care only for the characters' graphics. I use a good computer with Windows 10, i7 Core, 12 GB ram and such. My only suggestion is to disable edge smoothing and replace it with SMAA or FXAA from Reshade. Is not a perfect solution because it will blur the GUI a little bit, but it will give you more frames. Just avoid using shaders like Depth of Field because it requires a lot of GPU power. Another option is to use standalone SweetFX, yes is already deprecated, but it works nice with TS3 and is simpler to use.
billyms100 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 If you have a good CPU, you could install ParkControl and unpack your cores, made a difference for me: http://simsvip.com/2016/02/02/the-sims-3-increase-performance-with-unpark-cpu/
IAmCornholio Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Consider combining some of the package files with S3PE. That worked way better than I thought it would.
Guest Redabyss Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Oh my god... you all were right in combining the packages. I did that only to some, up to now, and the game speed improved dramatically! If you have a good CPU, you could install ParkControl and unpack your cores, made a difference for me:http://simsvip.com/2016/02/02/the-sims-3-increase-performance-with-unpark-cpu/ I just installed ParkControl, but how do I use it with TS3? Also, my download folder now looks like this: https://s12.postimg.org/wl0582qjh/image.png Didn't include mike and L666 since they update often, also, for some reasons, some hairs give me errors when I try to compress them. I'm VEEEEEERY paranoid of having missed some files, or something that may not work, but so far so good! It cut the load times by a gazillion!

Just open it and select the Bitsum Highest Performance option, if it's not there then install it. That will unpark all CPU cores. It will help with any game you play, including TS3. You don't have to link them or anything. Edit: I notice that you have awesomemod installed. If you cancel out the option to retain wishes and opportunities when you switch households, this will help with some of the bloating and lag.

Bejaymac Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 You'll find that a lot of the lag/freezing is down to Kinky World. Under normal game play your active household is the only open residential lot in the hood, this means when all of the NPC's go home they step through the front door and stop, they normally remain there until the game tells them to leave. The only time this changes is when you zoom in on one of the lots, the game realizes this and lets the NPC's interact with the lot and each other. With KW all of the residential lots are partially open, which means all of the NPC's are interacting with their home lot and each other, as a result there is a hell of a lot more "stress" on the game code than it was designed to cope with, which is where a lot of the lag/freezing is coming from. Elevators are another problem area, sims have been getting stuck in the bloody things since they were added with Late Night, so if you have a number of them in the world you play then keep an eye on them, as a stuck sim means no other sims can use the elevator, which results in a lot of unrouteable sims and a lot of lag and freezing.
gangstamick Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Yeah Bejay, I can't do a city game. Back to breaking Skyrim.
Skaldy Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Also you may want to try disabling some of the KW core settings like never undress for toilet and never sleep over blanket. I also had improvment with disabling genitalia hair.
