shinyray01 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Reinstalling Skyrim on my new computer (Windows 10 os). Installed Steam, NMM and MO without any hiccups. Downloaded SKSE and proceeded to extract files and the first thing I noticed was that a window popped up labelled "WinRAR: Diagnostic messages" and had the line "! C:\Users\...\skse_1_07_03.7z: Unknown method in skse_1_07_03\src\skse\skse\..." for every file in the archive. At first I thought that the archive was corrupted in some way and re-downloaded it again only to find that the same thing happened again. I thought little of it the second time due to the the fact that the files were extracted (They did extract the first time) and proceeded to install SKSE via MO (through Gopher's Tutorial). MO was able to detect SKSE and I ran it via MO, however a window popped up saying "failed to spawn "skse_loader.exe:" failed to start process (errorcode 193) So I go directly to the skse loader in the skyrim folder and tried to run it (both normally and as an administrator) there in which Windows tells me that "This app can't run on your PC". I noticed that everything that was extracted from the archive was 0 kb and all the .txt files were empty. Luckily I backed up a copy of the archive from about a year ago (same archive version) and proceeded to extract that one. "WinRAR: Diagnostic messages" popped up again. So am I doing something wrong in installing SKSE or is it not compatible windows 10.
Guest Flobalob Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 It works fine on win 10, it probably didnt install right. Try updating your version of winrar or 7zip (better).
Sorinade Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Sorry, not encountered that problem - currently running SKSE fine here on Win 10. Is your version of Winrar up to date? Maybe it's the version of that program which isn't compatible with Win 10.
Guest Flobalob Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Forgot to mention, check your firewall program settings. Make sure it isn't blocking anything Steam, SKSE, MO/NMM or winrar related.
SepticSpoon Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 You could try using the "installer" version of SKSE and not the archived version. See if that helps/makes a difference.
