Fixed: CTD on loading

So I've been downloading a bunch of the devious mods and it was working for a bit last night and then it crashed so I stopped for the evening. This morning when I go to boot it up it wouldn't load so I started a new game as I was only a few hours in it didn't really matter to me. But then it kept crashing on starting a new game, sometimes I wouldn't get to character creation and sometimes I did. It managed to run long enough to give me an error about Devious Devices Equip so I reinstalled that but that didn't solve my issue so I reinstalled Skyrim and all my mods.

 

After redownloading skyrim and reinstalling mods and what not I finally got it to load. I made a character and selected the starting scenario a slave running from her master or whatever it is called. I do a manual save and activate the bed. Crashes on the loading screen. So I reload the auto save there and crash. Reload the manual save after talking to the statue, crash. Reload autosave from before talking to the statue, crash.

 

Can anyone please help me with my issue? Please find attached my load order and my Papyrus crash log. Note that even though my log order says patchimusmaximus and dual sheath patches I am not currently using them and I don't know why those esps are still there even though I deleted all my mods.

So I deleted the Alternative Start mod and it loaded up fine. I got through the boring opening scene and got to Riverwood. I then saved my game and quit and went to reload and now it is not loading. I looked under the Papyrus logs and it says Unofficial Patch is not install but I have it so I reinstalled it and checked again and it still crashes when I load my game. I have looked through the other forum posts and tried to solve this myself but alas to no avail.

 

I also got another mod but I don't think that should change it crashing on loading the save. The game itself loads fine and then I click continue and the loading screen works properly and I get the in-game hints and whatnot and I get about 1 frame of game then CTD, every time. I've tried other saves too to see if that fixes it and it's just that save but it is not.

Unfortunately I have no experience with any Devious mods, because when I installed them, I would always CTD. And I didn't really care enough to troubleshoot it at the time. So I can't give you any specific tips or hints for that.

 

I can tell you that the USLEEP "errors" are not really errors. USLEEP checks if the previous seperate Unofficial mods are installed. If it can't find them (which is good), it reports it as an error. So that part at least is nothing to worry about.

 

First of all, what mod manager do you use?

 

Alternative Start is not known to cause any CTDs, so you could put it back if you wish. I am saying that, because I think it would be wisest to start a new game.

 

The fact that you have persistent mods in your loadorder (maximus and duel sheath) is already a sign of trouble. If you removed all the mods before, they should not be present anymore. So you will need to correct that first.

 

I think that Devious mods are script heavy, so you may want to adjust your papyrus setting in Skyrim.ini a bit.

Change the following settings:

fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2

fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0

This will cause a bit of a delay in starting, but it grants the game engine more time to start scripts. Don't mess with the other settings, please.

 

Since you are using a few script heavy mods, it might be wise to install Crash Fixes 12 (and its dependancies). This will fix some of the most common CTD causes.

 

Last question, did you run LOOT to sort you load order?

Please go again through the requirements of devious devices on others -and then those requirements have again requirements on their own.

As far as I can tell from seeing the esp list you might missing some.

I got it working finally. Ran for about 2 hours without a crash and for Skyrim in my opinion that's pretty good. I downloaded the crash fixes 12 fix thingy and uninstalled Sanguine's Debauchery as that seemed to be the issue and I needed another mod for yps Immersive Fashion even though I thought I didn't need it as it was under optional and I had a similar mod that was also under optional. But yay. Loaded up fine and I played for another hour after the crash.

In my last playthrough i never even had one SD+ scenario. Even so my game become very unstable and was not playable anymore. When i looked into the papyrus log there were 100s of errors because of SD_spriggan, although the sprigganquests was deactivated. I do not get why so many ppl can play SD+ without problems and when i add the mod my playthrough becomes a timebomb.

That's what the error was for me too. I also had other errors and about 1000 lines of report after 1 frame of actual game so it was quite hard to view everything
