Guest Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Which do you use and prefer? I know this is a highly controversial subject, but I'm still interested. Side note: I'm planning on buying a new monitor (for my new gaming rig) and I'm torn between IPS and 120hz. IPS Monitor: ProArtSeries PA246Q at $500 120hz Monitor: Viewsonic VX2753MH-LED 27-Inch LED Monitor at $320 At any rate, which one should I get? And in general, what panel type do you prefer?
LordJerle Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Never had any experience with ProArt as a brand, but I've had my Viewsonic flat screen 19" for about 6 years now, and it has held up 100%, not even a dead pixel to be seen, and I run it pretty constantly, so purely on the basis of a brand that I know will last a long time, I'd go with the Viewsonic.
prideslayer Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Not being a graphic artist, I have no reason to spend the extra money on an IPS display. If I *were* a graphic artist though, I'd stick with a CRT for the important work. So, TN for me. Very happy with my Viewsonic's right now. 2x VA2231wm-LED's. If you have the desk space, go with two smaller monitors rather than one larger one; once you've gone dualhead (or more), you'll never go back.
