AgentCarolina Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Does anyone know how I would be able to make to where i could have a hat on my character with MODDED hair from Commonwealth Cuts?Screenshot on what I'd like to happen below. https://gyazo.com/d8ec038cfd14821ef63ed033af23ced2
NexusVetX94 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 hey, if i understand you right you want the modded hair to act the way vanilla hair does when a hat/helmet is worn? for example you want it so that the ponytail falls from the back of the helmet? there are a couple of ways to do this. (this one i never tried but hopefully itll open up more things for you to search) make an alternate mesh for the hair that is edited to be worn when a hat is equipped in theory this is easy enough i just dont know what options to use when putting it in game so never tried, and the last option i can think of is too open the hair mesh and the hat you like in 3dsmax/blender and morph the hair to the way you like, this is how i would do it even though its more awkward as it would need to be done to each new hat or helmet you liked, sorry i cant be more help pal i rarely work with hair but have worked with a lot of models especially headgear so if you need any questions answered ill try and help but fair warning they may be awkward solutions and im not the best at explaining things lol

darkconsole Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 depends on the complexity of the hair. for this simple pony tail i just removed the hair slot from the armo, arma, and dug around in the nif to find the slot data used in vats. then expanded it in bodyslide so that it didnt clip with the rest of the hair. http://www.loverslab.com/blog/199/entry-2306-changing-an-items-armor-slots-for-fallout-4/
NexusVetX94 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 AgentCarolina i would suggest 3dsmax its easier to get use to but blender has a few more features for fallout nv and skyrim, p.s 3dsmax is free for 3 yrs if your a student (im not a student anymore wink wink) lol darkconsole i completely forgot about outfit studio i think you could do what i was saying with it just might take longer and armor pieces and such morphed in outfit studio often turn out messy but im not sure about hair
