Darkening Demise Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 So I've decided to see if my pre built specs can function with this new motherboard and processor (since the new mobo uses intel and not amd). My pre built: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03135882 -Model HP Pavilion p7-1254 -I'm using Windows 10 64-bit instead of Windows 7 64-bit -I have a EVGA 500W PSU instead of the 300W it came with -I have a GTX 750Ti 2GB graphics card to hook up with the new motherboard New motherboard: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BLW9TW/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary New processor: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/F63RsY/intel-cpu-bx80646i54460 New case: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VDBv6h/corsair-case-cc9011038ww Wondering if the network card or adapter or whatever and sound card and whatnot inside could be hooked up to this new motherboard. Figure this way I save a fortune! I need to know if my RAM is also salvageable.
Guest Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 No The case is a Micro ATX and that motherboard is a ATX. I'd advise you to pickup a new case
Darkening Demise Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Well since I have to buy a whole new case ($70) I might as well ask if anything from my prebuilt that can be used with my new motherboard I'm looking at in the first post.
MorePrinniesDood Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 It looks like the RAM should be transferable, the wireless card also looks like it would also fit into a PCIE 1x slot on the new mobo.

If so that saved me $17 for another card. Plus $60 for RAM. If anyone knows of a cheaper good case that works with all these parts let me know I'd like to not have to spend $331+ on everything. heh heh
