Lost render window in the Construction set!

Hi there,

 

For some reason, I lost the render window from tes4's construction set and I can no longer edit mods. Even when I re-install the CS, it's still not there as if a cache still records the missing render window but I cannot find where that is! Even if I click via the CS on the render window, the check mark simply won't work. However I have no problem with the object window or cell view closing or opening or anything else for that matter which is really odd, only the render window is missing in action while it worked fine the day before.

 

Did this happen to any of you and does someone knows and or has a fix for this?

This might be a stupid reply but...did the render window be covered by the other windows?

When the first time I use CS, this happened to me too.

Have you tried going to "view" and clicking on "render window"? Make sure it is not hidden behind some other window.

Hi guys, thanks for the reply.

 

Actually I have closed every window and opened them again and so on to make that it wasn't hidden, but the render window will not even activate when I click on it, the "check mark" won't enable at all. Its okay with other windows, but for some reason the render window is gone.

 

So I have no idea what the eck is going on. The only change I did recently is that I have activated ElminsterAU's TES4LODGen from tesnexus. However, I really doubt that's what caused the problem because I used that before and why would it affect the render window from the CS in any shape or form! Very odd!

 

Not sure what to do now, I can still play the game, but I can no longer edit anything which is a real bummer!

Ok, try this: Open up the CS and pick any esp mod (you are not actually going to change anything so it doesn't matter which one), once it finishes loading then click on the cell view window and select one of items in it (cells or worlds) and then double click it. This is supposed to then open that item in the render window. See if it pops up then.

 

If that doesn't do anything then completely uninstall the CS, and THEN install it again. Reinstalling without removing first won't change anything.

A bit of a long shot, but do you use multiple monitors? I lost the render window once when I moved and had the monitors the other way around, the window was actually stuck in my non existent right 2nd monitor. Setting the 2nd monitor to right let me move it back.

 

Definitely a long shot, I know, but had to ask

I tried all this already and it still not there, but thanks for trying to help me out with this.

Nope and that could have been a good possibility but I don't use two monitors, but thanks for the help too!

 

Oh well, I'll be reformatting soon, might as well restart fresh with the modding.

I got my render window back! In case this happens to someone else, what I did is I made a search on my pc and typed in ConstructionSet.ini and within it I changed its placement, such as x0 and y around 400 and bam the render window was back. For some reason the coordinates were way off like 900+ on both x and y and that why I couldn’t use it.

 

Anyway, the moderators can lock this if they want to. It’s fixed now!
