Dooge Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Why the hell was ABCs Forever cancelled? That's like the best show I've seen in ages.
Jexsam Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Without hyperbole I can safely and factually claim that I have literally never heard of this show before now.
Guest MonsterFish Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Sounds interesting though. But I don't want to get into it now knowing that it only has one season and probably a lot of loose ends.
blind dog Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 It was never highlighted or advertized, and they ran it against CSI:NO, so you can probably guess how that went. Basically the only scifi ABC is interested in is the kind they own outright, aka AoS, because Forever got the same ratings AoS did and got cancelled after a season. AoS is on their fourth season and can't even beat the Flash, which is on a network only 70% of the USA gets, and yet still has higher ratings than anything ABC offers.
JayJay187 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I think the post above speaks for itself then. I hate when they chop shows that could be something, though. Take Vinyl on HBO for example.
Captain Cobra Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Need mo' time slots for dem sitcoms. :^)
Sarathis Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Why the hell was ABCs Forever cancelled? That's like the best show I've seen in ages. I agree, I loved this show. Great cast and an increasingly intriguing storyline unfolding. Sadly, ABC is run by ratings whores and their sole interest was getting more viewers than NBC and CBS in the same time slot. Although Forever did well, especially considering how late it was on, it didn't get a lot of advertising love and never pulled in the kinds of numbers to beat the more established shows on the other networks. They decided to cancel Forever despite a lot of protest from fans and critics in hopes of putting on something that would bump them up to first place in that time slot. Which is hysterical because the piece of garbage that replaced it, Wicked City, lasted just three episodes before it got canceled due to it being the worst pile of crap ever. Idiots. In the end I think they wound up showing reruns of Shark Tank or some other "reality" nonsense for the rest of the season.

Sarathis Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I was hoping that Netflix might take an interest in hosting further seasons but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. CW has the first season episodes up on their Seed thing, which is cool. Just would have liked to have seen more. The series had a long ways to go yet.
