Creation Kit-How To Fix Make Up and War Paint?

Whenever I'm in the CK I notice major problems, when trying to apply color on lips, eyes, warpaint, etc. there's the nasty splotch on top of the head. Anyone know how to actually make NPCs use makeup/warpaint in the CK?

Using hi-res tintmasks and warpaints?  CK has problems with anything over 512x512. 

If the textures are  hi-res versions of the original tintmasks and warpaints, just uninstall them and use the original Skyrim files.  After you finish and save the edits, reinstall the hi-res files to see how they look in-game.

If the textures are custom then you will need to make copies and reduce the resolution of the copies to 512x512 before adding them to the NPCs.  When done and about to check them out in your game, replace the reduced resolution versions with the hi-res files.  Make backups of the low-res files for later use.
