MudkipWarrior Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I'm thinking of getting back into it what do you think
Guest MonsterFish Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 ...Who are you again? When you say the term 'Modding' do you mean creation or modding the game?
Guest MonsterFish Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Then why exactly are you asking us if you should mod the game? Isn't that your choice?
Sarge Misfit Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Ask yourself ... Did you enjoy modding before? Do the reasons you stopped still apply? Decide from there. You will know everybody else's opinion by their reactions to your mods.
Swiftstep Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Is the upcoming HD package for legendary Skyrim an argument against starting modding right now? Just asking, cause I actually don't know what it brings.
znaroks Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Start getting familiarized with OSA, mod some modules for it, thats what we need right now and will have the largest demand.
Nazzzgul666 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Is the upcoming HD package for legendary Skyrim an argument against starting modding right now? Just asking, cause I actually don't know what it brings. I'd say it's irrelevant because it will take it's time until mods will work there properly. Even if sexlab and such can be transfered without any problems, some imho necessary things like SKSE won't.

So, if I understand correctly, nobody knows what is going to happen when this thing goes online. Meaning it is a reason against returning to modding now, because all the work could be useless after that?

Meaning it is a reason against returning to modding now, because all the work could be useless after that? Well, i'm not a modder myself, i never had a look at the code of those or Papyrus documentation, i guess some have a more or less correct idea how much work it'll be to rewrite their code. "No idea" sounds pretty clueless, some ppl here and elsewhere are pretty smart, though. Some things like SKSE will broken, and since it's a dependency, not much else would work on that new system until it's fixed. I assume that the APIs should stay the same, though. Once all requirements work again, everything else will be fine, hopefully. But appearently the OP didn't ask if he should make a mod, but install a mod. No idea why somebody should ask that or what happens when i say no, or yes, but in that case i don't really regret to be clueless. And to be more clear what i mean: I won't play any unmodded Skyrim anymore. Probably i'll search for some x64 mod updates next year before i think about upgrading Skyrim itself.

Plus, with the last sentence, you state exactly what I said to myself once I started to play Skyrim with mods. Never again vanilla.
