Amilyn Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I'd like to know an answer to this question too, there is an outfit with an awesome body when you equip it that I have, so extracting it's femalebody_0.nif would be a cool thing

Unfortunately no, there is not. Sliders essentially control "modifications" to a base shape (which is usually CBBE or UNP). Applying all these modifications, one after another, gives the final body result. What you are asking is: "Given the final result, find out the values of the sliders used to produce that result". Unfortunately there's no tool for that, and the work required to build such a tool would be TREMENDOUS to say the very least. Also, I'm not even sure if for any result body, there is a unique set of slider settings to produce it, i.e. there may even be more than one way to set the sliders up to produce the final result.

I come across this from time to time making follower mods. I Use Outfit Studio to work around this. This method will allow you to increase sliders based off the shape of the body, but not decrease them below the value of the body you provide.* * Keep in mind, some sliders when moving to a large value, actually decrease body features. So, starting with a pre made mesh and adding sliders to it, you do have options to increase or decrease proportions. So, start with your low weight body mesh. For information purposes, femalebody_0.nif is the low weight mesh, femalebody_1.nif is the high weight mesh. When you are in Bodyslide, sliding the weight at the top of the screen means you're sliding between those two mesh outputs. The use of the asterisk * is for information, do not type this into any of the fields provided. 1. In Outfit Studio, drag the mesh femalebody_0.nif on to the grey preview window 2. From the File menu, Load Reference, I use the "from template" drop down to select the body type (CBBE, CBBE HDT, Unified UNP HDT, et) In the same dialog check the box for "Merge new sliders with existing sliders" Now you will have sliders, your femalebody_0.nif will be labeled baseshape and a BaseShape Reference will be added, this is the reference you just added. 3. Click Baseshape so that only it is highlighted. 4. Open the Shape Menu, select "set reference" 5. Click on the BaseShape Reference which was created from #2 above. 6. Right click BaseShape Reference, scroll down and select "Delete". 7. Changing textures. double click the baseshape, click the textures button and enter the paths to your .DDS texture files. Do this now and save time later. 8. Now Save As give it the appropriate names and paths. Save As Dialogbox options Bodyslide Display Name: YourCharacterName * * Change this to the name you want the body to use. Output file name: femalebody * * Do not add a file extension to this, the program will do this for you. Output Data Path: meshes\actors\character\YourCharacterNameFolder * *This is where your femalebody_0.nif and femalebody_1.nif mesh files will be placed, these are the meshes that will be in your game. Select Low/High Weight output Project Slider Set File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common\Skyrim\Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\SliderSets\YourCharacterName.osp Shape Data Folder: YourCharacterName Shape Data File: YourCharacterName.nif * * This is the mesh file that bodyslide and outfit studio will use to create the game mesh files, the template. Check the box for Copy reference shape into output -- Now, when you REopen Bodyslide, your body will show in Outfit/Body drop down. If you want to do a quick test, select your shape, while holding down CTRL key press Build. This will place the mesh files femalebody_0.nif, femalebody_1.nif into SkyRim\Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide root folder. You can check these with Nifskope to see if all the textures paths are working. I tend to use this method to verify results before using build to actually replace the mesh files I use in game. Since you lost your slider set settings, this will create a slider set for your Current Body. This isn't the slider PRESET, this just adds sliders to the body mesh you still have. Hope this helps. updated: * Keep in mind, some sliders when moving to a large value, actually decrease body features.
