Skyrim Saves doomed with Sexlab?

So this is kinda out of frustration so please be nice to me.

I love all the mods here. I've been using lots of mods on and off, trying stuff and everything.

I recently wanted to start Skyrim again and installed only as few mods as I deemed possible.

Sexlab with stuff like defeat, all according to instruction, the aweseome mod "beeing female" and all it's neccessary stuff.

I also added frostfall and realistic needs and diseases.

Dimonized UNP Body and 2-3 graphics mods, nothing too fancy. everything else is vanilla.

All the mods work flawless (as far as i can tell). Really enjoying all the animations and the often hilarious situations that occur.

However, I still experience errors. Sometimes CTD when loading the game up for the first time (once it loaded it runs perfectly fine).

And now, just yesterday, my savegame died after 29 hours. I wasn't able to load an exterior cell. Older savegames still work fine, so I'm not totally lost, but still, it's about an hour of gametime gone.

Is there anything to prevent that?

Some 3rd party addon that keeps scripts tidied up?

I realize there's a lot of stuff going on but I always suspect you guys are able go enjoy the game as stable as it should be?

I'm using an i7-2600k, 16Gb RAM and an GTX 1080, so I doubt it's hardware. FPS are capped at 60 by a d3d9something.dll from nexus.

Any advice?

I'm not new to installing mods, been doing it since good ol' oblivion.

Thanks in advance. :)

Edit: I forgot to mention, I of course use GenerateFNIS and Loot whenever necessary. :)

If it's a brand new mod profile with a new character it's most likely your load order.

Can you post that?

I don't trust loot with LL mods.

That should be it I think? ^^

It worked fine for almost 30 hours on that savegame. Was a brand new installation (new HDD, all files downloaded newly).

Other, older savegames work fine, even from just 1 hour earlier. (Most recent, not broken one)

You can always check this thread, just to be sure.

That's some very interessting stuff on modding.

I'm out at a friends for some time but I'll be looking into that once I get back. That kinda sounds a lot like my problem.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention :)

Sometimes CTD when loading the game up for the first time (once it loaded it runs perfectly fine).

From the FNIS page on Nexus Mods:

("Load CTD") After I ran the generator, Skyrim aborts (CTD) when loading a save file. An FNIS bug?

No. Skyrim's memory Management is buggy, and the more you add to Skyrim, the greater the likelyhood that you see CTDs, especially on save load. I personally have NO load CTD with 1500 animations, about 0.5 with 3000 animations, and about 3-6 CTD with 4000 animations before the game is loaded. Interestingly, once Skyrim starts sucessfully, an immediate re-load of the same file will almost always succeed, even with 4000+ animations. So there is an apparent dependency between memory usage and CTD frequency. Here my advice when you have an unacceptable CTD rate:

  • Install SKSE 1.7.0 Alpha or later. This will install "sheson's memory patch", which will not totally cure Skyrim, but geatly reduce CTD likelyhood. Make sure you have a Data/SKSE/skse.ini file with the following lines:
  • [Memory]

    DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768

    ScrapHeapSizeMB=512

  • Make a "clean save". Skyrim's problems to deal with updates of scripted mods is another big CTD cause.
  • At least temporarily reduce the number of FNIS based mods. Pinup Poser, for example, is a great mod. But I can't understand why user keep a pose mod active all the time when they suffer from frequent CTDs.

Very interessting Post. I did apply this memory entry to the skse.ini and from what I can say so far, that helped with the laoding screen crashes.

But all together I had a bit over 2000 animations and crashes were kinda rare to begin with. But very interessting read no doubt.

Also, thanks for your help so far. :)

My main problem however was the game CTDing whenever laoding an exterior cell.

It was with that one savegame so my guess was / is that there's some script running wild or something.

Loading an older savegame I was able to continue playing flawlessly.
