Oblivion Crashes Before the Character Creation Screen

I recently installed Lovers with PK merged, and i've had some problems with it. I managed to stop it from crashing when it starts up, but now it crashes whenever I try to play on a character, even when starting a new one. I tried using BOSS to reorganize all of my .esp and .esm, but it still crashes. Also, if anyone knows how to get a list of my current active mods from OBMM, then please share.

Lovers with PK merged is a lost cause.

 

And the list? It's been so long I've completely forgotten.

 

That's all the bad news I have for you at the moment--but someone knows/remembers how to do that list--that I know.

okay, thanks. By the way, I seem to be unable to start a new character. It almost loads, but then it CTDs. It does this whether I have mods on or not, does anyone know what is wrong?

Crashing at loading could be problems with ini or even missing masters.

 

Try posting your load order. To do this via OBMM just hit import/export, then view load order, the copy it and paste it here. Please use spoilers when posting load orders.

Revise your lovers plugins to match the load order in the spoiler here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=6133 and you should be fine.

 

Also, make sure that your bashed patch does NOT contain any lovers files as it can break their scripts. If it does then rebuild your bashed patch but before doing so disable all lovers plugins and then rebuild it.

How do I rebuild my bashed patch?

 

Edit: never mind, I found how to rebuild it.

 

Edit 2: Okay, now I can get to the intro animation, but it crashes NOT to desktop after that. I made sure that all my mods have all the dependencies they need and the bash patch doesn't contain any lovers files.

okay, I tried to install Lovers with PK AIO, but the time left of the download starts to go up and the download rate down about halfway through the download of the .7z

 

Is there any reason why this happens?

 

EDIT: I retried the download on firefox, and it works. Now all I have to do is fix the Crash that happens before the character creation screen.

Yay855, in order for you to play a custom race you will either need to download and install UOP (unofficial oblivion patches) - this is a very large download or use this small fix: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/1815

okay, i'm using the small download fix, but it sill crashes right before I get to the character creation screen, as in, it crashes on the loading screen after the cutscene about the emperor .

yay855, you have two choices:

 

1. Disable all but the "official" esm/esp files and get through the tutorial to where you exit the sewers, then save your game and exit. Then enable all your mods and use the console commands to open back up the character creation and change your PC to what you want.

 

2. Try an alternate start mod like this: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/11495

use the TES4Edit to make sure that your load is not the issue.
