Nope,  it works even if you've not married anyone yet, in fact if you hang around a guard barracks you'll see that even ordinary npcs comfort each other, if you have something like "Pet Collar" installed too and the appropriate settings in the MCM, even your pets/slaves will comfort random npcs.

 

The spouse thing is mainly for the spouse cheating on you scenario by taking a lover if you neglect their sexual needs........

if you mean scent of sex, I think best bet would be to search for it in downloads since some of the threads for it seem to have been lost in the failed forum upgrade.  CPU gave quite a scare a bit back with his sudden retirement, but he still seems to be working on the mod, which should be seeing a major update next version.  in the meantime, I'd avoid 1.2a and get 1.2, as the former is pretty broken pending 1.3.

oic. tru but you have to wait for the npcs to both be sleeping. and they have to be lovers in the game. you can open CK and make some npcs lovers but thats a pain. and they have to literally both be horizontal to do the horizontal mambo... if u get my meaning.
