rockinroller97 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Saw the topic come up in a thread on the new site but I can't find it here and since this will be the main site once again...anyways, I'm curious about Second Life and its adult content after hearing good things about it, but I know literally nothing about the game or its adult side and how to get into it. Does anyone know of a forum or something that has guides for getting into the adult content? (Basically a Second Life version of this site. =P) Thanks in advance.
Arhon Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Here you go Second Life I kind of wanted to play too but it was way too confusing and couldnt find a person to explain me things so i kind of gave up but good luck. Its a fun game.
Huskarl27 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I used to get on with some buddies to fuck around, but here's my advice. Find some guides for new people. Check out Fabfree's first 30 day section so you can get free stuff and look less like a scrub. Just like real life, appearance makes a big difference. Once you've got a grasp of the controls, how to interact with the world and how to look halfway decent, if you're a dude you need to get a donger. Free ones look like they're straight outta' 2001, decent ones cost money. If you're a chick, most body textures already have you handled. After that it's pretty much just searching for adult clubs or meetup areas and showing up. Socialize with people and go from there. There's generally something for everybody fetishwise. That being said, there isn't nearly as much activity outside clubs, shopping areas, fuck plazas, etc. Would basically get on with buddies and start wandering old roads, kinda like exploring an acid trip version of Pripyayt. In the end, if you go in just for sex, it's going to be disappointing. If you go in to explore or meet people or build a business or mess with people that take things far too seriously, you'll enjoy yourself more in the long run.
ReMeDy Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Wow, am I imagining it, or did they significantly increase the graphics when I wasn't looking? It's got me interested in giving it a second look (no pung intended).
Mygoodness777 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I'm an avid SL user. Mesh has revolutionized the appearance of the world and especially people. The servers are still run on a potato though, and even mesh is starting to look dated. There aren't a whole lot of people around. Most of the quality ones (if you're looking to build relationships) are already set up with friends and family there and aren't interested in more. There are a lot of idiots...if you want to be one of them, you'll fit right in. Casual sex will be disappointing.
Keryo Wolfe Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I can speak from experience as an avid decade long SL user that getting into the adult content is pretty easy. Also, learning concepts like rezzing items, moving things around, adjusting items on your avatar, etc only SEEM extremely difficult at first. However there is a significant learning curve. Once you get those basics down, SL is a cake walk. In terms of getting yourself ready for naughty times, I can give you a few pointers. 1: I can't tell you exactly what kind of avatar you should get. That should be up to you and it also depends on what kind of av you're looking to fuck or get fucked by. (Human, Furry, Anime, etc). What you definitely need to know is DO NOT USE THE DEFAULT SL AVATAR. I can't stress this enough. It's utterly terrible and should not be used at all. 2. DO NOT USE THE VIEWER PROVIDED BY THE SL WEBSITE. It's utter crap and is very inefficient. If you want a better viewer use either Firestorm, or if you have a lower end PC, Singularity. 3. If you're looking to pull off a more realistic look for your avatar, I recommend Niramyth mesh bodies for men and The Mesh Project bodies for women. However if you want a cartoony body, then Anthro Anim's A.A Mesh bodies are for you. 4: Be prepared to spend a little IRL cash to get SL cash. While the game is mainly free and there are ways to get lindens for free by doing in game jobs like DJing and poledancing and whatnot, if you want to get all the stuff you need for you avatar right away, be sure to have a few bucks to drop into the game to get the SL cash you need for those parts. 5. Never pay attention to the gender of the person behind the SL avatar. Focus on the gender of the avatar itself. Trust me, you'll save yourself a lot of drama this way. 6. Be prepared to get shot down... A LOT. Despite popular belief, SL is not entirely composed of horny sluts. These are normal people, and as such, you should be prepared to have to still go though the whole "be my friend first" schpiel. however, if you know where to look, you can find some good easy fucks. one such place is "Just Poseballing". However it's mainly a furry place so if you're not into furries, dunno where you can go. I leave it up to you to find more places like this. 7. Patience. SL servers tend to hiccup a lot so there's the occasional lag spike, not to mention rolling restarts and what not. you just have to be patient. this pretty much covers most points. if i think of anymore, i'll type em in.
Sural Argonus Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I started this yesterday, walked around and it seemed pretty dead. Was kinda disappointed. Maybe I was missing something?
Huskarl27 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Most of the newbie areas are going to be either dead or have people pretty dazed and confused as to what's going on. You can use the different search tools and look up places. It'll generally show how much traffic each place has on a weekly basis to give you an idea. An example: The biggest shemale club and escort clubs both have over 60k-100k unique visits. A small venue for friends and friends of friends may have 5-30. Look up ongoing events, clubs or venues that match your tastes in music, artsy stuff that tickles your fancy, etc. Walking the roads can be interesting but lonely. There's still a pretty sizable population considering the platform's age but people have moved on to more private or centralized deals over the past few years.
Darkening Demise Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Just wait for their new virtual world. SL is a pain to run on any system. Plus the content is highly dated, it makes even AP for Bethesderp games look like the highest quality stuff you'll ever find.
Sural Argonus Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I went to the Adult island or whatever. I just didn't know where to go. I will mess with it more I guess. Any suggestions?
Huskarl27 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Every viewer has a search option and the default websearch normally has events, trending destinations, etc. You can also go to the places tab, type in pretty much any fetish and it'll populate with a ton of places.
spore123 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Tried today, 40 people in an adult area I teleported into, most idle though, explored the adult content and sadly it is very dated compared to other offerings on this site: only thing it has going for it is the 'human' interaction via the text chat, and even then my experience felt more creepy than enjoyable. Doubt I'll be visiting again
Sarah Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Software - The Client The SL-Client called "Viewer" and can be downloaded from the offical SecondLife Website. But as already mentioned, you should start with the Firestorm Viewer right away. Firestorm has more important features and nearly 90% of the Residents in SecondLife using this Viewer. So when you ask others for help, the first question you would hear is: "Which Viewer are you using?" and then they're hoping that you say "Firestorm", The Reason is simple: Most of them don't know anymore which Features the offical viewer has now and which are just only available in TPVs*. TPV = Third Party Viewer: Viewers who wasn't made from LindenLabs and created from the Community. The Residents Player/Users/Avatars in SecondLife called "Residents" and you should know that not all people in SecondLife looking for sex only. But it's true: "Sex sells and so there are many people around just to have a little bit fun.". If you really looking for them/this you should use the "Search" (of your Viewer) and looking for places with high traffic and matching keywords: bdsm bitch blowjob cunt dick dom femdom fetish fuck lesbian love nude orgy rape shemale slave suck and so on... It is easy to guess who is into this just by looking into the profile of the avatar and find something which is like this: The avatar is younger (then 100 days), on an adult SIM and has an empty profile. The Avatar shows in his/her profile his interests into this. (Text, Groups, Picks) The Avatar is on a fuck sim, nude and masturbates next to or on you. But don't forget, some Residents like to know each other before get intimate. Others are really not interested (anymore) in this kind of activity. The first steps... ... in(to) the second Life are really hard and can't archived just by visiting SecondLife just only for one or two evenings. Be patient and you'll get rewarded with endless possibilitys, or just leave and cry about how bad this "game*" was for you. ( * SecondLife isn't game, it is an open world sandbox where the users created everything you can see and get. So what you will make out of your second Life, belongs to you. Don't expect that you get something by doing nothing. ) You've to: Learn how the interface of your Viewer works and how to setup your Viewer. Learn how to control the camera. (Hint: Hold Alt-key and left mouse button to rotate around the focused object. Try out what happens when you hold Shift, too) Learn how to rezz an object inworld. (from your inventory) Learn how to pick up items inworld to put them into your inventory. Learn the difference between Landmarks, SIM/Regions, Parcels Learn to attach objects from your inventory and detach them. Learn how to look into a profile and/or just editing yours. Learn how Avatars are made, so that you understand how to improve there look. Learn how to edit object inworld (move, scale, rotate) them. Learn how to buy stuff in SecondLife or get L$ Learn how to use the Search to find good locations. Learn how to make Screenshots Learn the difference between Prims (simple objects), Sculptes (more detailed objects) and Mesh (Really detailed objects) And so much more... from scripting, building, modeling, posing, selling and so on... this list could be continued and we wouldn't be sure if this covering everything. Because of the (hart first steps) I would recommend to look out for a Mentor. (Resident who helps newbies) To find some, write into your profile, that you're looking for one and that you would be glad for every help you can get. Linden Dollar (L$) The L$ is the virtual currency of SecondLife. You can earn them buy selling stuff and working your ass off. Or you can spend real world money into it and convert them to L$ on the offical SecondLife Account page. (when you're logged in) I recommend you to start SL without money, because at the beginning you've to learn how SL really works, how you can wear stuff and how the whole avatar body thing works. When you learned that and tried different freebie-stuff, you should be able to understand what is valuable and what isn't. When you arrive this point of knowledge, you are ready to make your life easier and buy some L$. Don't think about to work and earn L$ by yourself. Without knowledge in development and creation (of advanced models/things), the income which you would get isn't enough to get the real valuable stuff. Your avatar As already mentioned in this thread, the default avatars aren't really well made. Because of that It's a good idea to look for freebies at the beginning, but be picky. ( because they often outdated and don't look so well made ) You can find freebies via Marketplace (just use the keyword freebie, set the price to zero) or in different threads of Secondlife Forums. Important: "Look if there is an Forum/Community for your language via Google, this pages often has such threads." When you think you want to make yourself looking better, you should spend (real world) money (to buy some L$) and buy yourself a good looking Mesh-Body, Skin, Hair and some clothes. I can't speak for males but I've some hints for both genders: Don't try to buy T.M.P Body until you're really feel yourself like a pro. T.M.P. looks well, but doesn't have much creators and isn't so comfy then others. Maitreya is the most bought Mesh-Body for female Avatars in SecondLife. (many creators support this body, it is easy for beginners and you should find easily support by others residents) There are much more Mesh-Bodys, for both genders. A good site with reviews would be the Mesh Addicts. You can get attachments (important for man) which gives you a cock/dick/penis for your avatar. If you got one, try to match the color of your skin. (nothing is more hilarious then a guy with a dick in the wrong color) Don't buy stuff, which you wasn't able to test. ( so if a product doesn't offers a Demo on Marketplace or InWorld, then don't buy it! ) Edit and fill your profile! When you think you want continue to explore the worlds of SecondLife, I would suggest that you edit and fill out your profile with so much information as possible! Why? To make yourself more interesting and show others that you're a honest person and don't just here to fool around them. It often happens that old (mean) Residents creating Alts (synonym for an alternative Account/Avatar), because they want to fool others. Often they don't see an afford to fill/edit there profile, so these profiles remain empty. The end of the story is that Residents with empty profiles don't look trustful and getting avoided from others. It is also possible to add a picture to the 1th and 2th Life-Tab to show how you look. You would ask me now, why you should add an image into your profile, when the others next to you can see you already! The reason is really simple: Your profile can get accessed via different locations in and outside of SecondLife. In SecondLife people can find your profile in the Search, on objects, groups, parcels and lands you own. This is important if someone want to contact you, but isn't near to you. Hint: Don't know what you could write into your profile? Just visit different places and look what other Residents wrote into there profiles. The Search (Button and Website) This is an important tool for all Residents! You can just search places, groups and peoples with keywords and what is more important for this topic. You can filter them between General, Moderate and Adult Content. So if you're looking for some adult activity's, remove the mark from Moderate and General, and just only search for Adult places. Hint: The Traffic value in the results indicates how well a place got visited. M.M.O.R.P.G (Many Men Online RolePlaying Girls) Be aware and accept that there are a 80% chance that the beautiful female avatar next to you could be played from a man/male. Remember yourself about this fact! There are many guys around who want to play/live there own female-sex-fantasys. That leads often to drama (dispute) between a guy who felt in love with his female partner and get told the truth. What you can do? Avoid Avatars who really fast want to fuck with you, saying that they don't cam and voice after some phrases and who behave like cheap porn actors. Accept this fact and respect others to be and do whatever they want. This world doesn't got his name without a reason. (Second Life) Make the best out of it. How is SL today? Not dead! Yes, SecondLife shrinked after the hype but doesn't get so empty like the TV and Magazines want to make it. If you know how to search you fill find Residents without problems and for every interest and activity some good community and places. I'm almost ten years now in SL and can't say that it bores me. Indeed, sometimes you need a pause. But after that you're already back, because you missed your friends, want to make roleplay or party. Or just like the unique way to create and manipulate object/hings in an virtual world. There are so much reasons and thanks of LindenLabs, SL still continues his development. So at the end I can say, give it some try's. (indeed, I said try's. Because every new try, you often learn something big and important which makes the next one much easier, until you finally create your own unique stuff. ) Good Luck and be respectful and friendly to others! ( remember, behind every Resident is a real human ) Edited: Correct some misspellings and add made some things more clear.
Sural Argonus Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I figured out a bit on the first time in. Tho I picked up some OBJ items...Couldn't figure out what to do with them. Also I seriously doubt I will do any of that cam stuff...It would really mess with them. I started a female avatar and I am a guy. hahaI've already had a bunch of guys try to proposition me. I've just ignored them.
Keryo Wolfe Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 @Sarah That reply HAS to be the best worded out introduction I have ever read. So much that I'm gonna slap it on both a txt file and on an in-world notecard to show it to new users.
SRR_2020 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I joined a couple of days ago and I'm really loving it, totally dived into the adult lifestyle and even found a mentor who helped me get my bearings around the game and the place. No idea how to look other people other than by the SIN tracker which I'm wearing, same username as here. I'm open to meeting new friends so look me up
KirikoKiama Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Just wait for their new virtual world. SL is a pain to run on any system. Plus the content is highly dated, it makes even AP for Bethesderp games look like the highest quality stuff you'll ever find. Yeah, i might need to disapoint you there... As it seems, the creators of the next virtual world wanna stay as far away as possible from anything adult related
KirikoKiama Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 For all your fetish needs in Second Life, just take a look in Latexia.

Nothing is safe from the internet.
Krh Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 How much would it cost to set up a nice avatar with clothes, animations and stuff? I don't mean owning huge buildings or plots of land or anything like that, just basics for not looking like a homeless person. When someone says "a few bucks," it could mean anything from five to five hundred to who knows what. I've been curious about this thing ever since I learned of its existence, but the numerous hoops to jump through to get started have so far put me off from trying it out.

You can do most of it for free. https://fabfree.wordpress.com/fabfree-30-days-list/ lists stores that have free giveaways to new people that are a cut above the usual freebie mall stuff. Outfits, body textures, etc. Browse through that, get some stuff, come out looking fairly decent. Stores also offer free gifts to members and hunts are another source of free stuff. Also if you're a lady, don't mind pretending to be a lady, etc etc, you can always escort, strip or just talk to lonely people and make pocket change to bank depending on the who what when and where. You can also search the marketplace for gifts and score bits you may not see inworld. The search parameters are archaic as fuck though, so if you want to cut out certain words or descriptions you need to search for say "gift NOT demo NOT d*e*m*o" etc, sans quotation marks.
Penny Patton Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 It's been a bit over a year since you asked about SL, any update? Were you able to put together a fun avatar and find some interesting places to go? I've been kind of out of SL for a year or so but recently got back in to check out some of the newest features. Taking screenshots is a lot more fun now that we have proper facial/hand animations and Black Dragon has a built in avatar poser so no more wrestling with uncooperative animations or static poses that don't quite work for what you want to achieve. It's enough that I want to revisit my Fallout themed SL machinima.
