I'm no expert but it seems from the character models that this could make use of a simple texture swap. Use your shield to block and parry incoming attacks, manage your stamina and wait for your chance to attack and defeat your enemies. A single mistake can be fatal, so stay on your toes to avoid making any. I've attached some screenshots from the character creation. Hopefully someone can take a quick looksie and possibly make a mod?
