SkyUI and Mod Organizer Setting up Hotkeys

I seem to be having an issue setting up hotkeys with my SkyUI. Most defaults are "Esc" but when I try to set it to something else it will trigger and nothing will happen. Then the mod status will freeze itself making me unable to try again until I leave the menu back to the game and wait a few moments. I did some searching and found this "sets"tage ski_configmanagerinstance 1" as some people have said on the forums that this may solve the issue. Unfortunately it did not for me.

 

I noticed that some mods do work when configuring them while others don't. Bathing in Skyrim will not work while Being Female will not load any information at all. Frostfall does not work as well as Sanguines Debauchery. These I can confirm. Even with a new game.

 

I never had this issue before but is there anyway to correct this or do I need to reinstall these mods? Please let me know if there is any information.

setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1

is the trigger for SkyUI to reinitialize its MCM menu. So leave all menus, open the console, apply this code, close the console and wait for the message "X new menus registered" or sth like that in the top left corner. It may take several minutes though, the best would be to avoid opening any menu during that time. Maybe travel to another quest beginning by foot or sth

If this doesn't help, it's not an issue of SkyUI, so propbably it will then be the mod and then either you provide a papyrus log after trying to set a hotkey or you directly try to reinstall those mods.

Update:

 

Your idea worked for the most part but there is still one mod that refuses to work which is Being Female. I even uninstalled/reinstalled it but that corrupted my save and I had to start over lol. I will ask the author of the mod about this issue.
