Using LOOT

Can I install and run LOOT no matter how far along into the game I am?  I am in over 1,950 hours in this, and running more than 230 mods in this, my first play through.  I see all the time in my searching the need to run LOOT in many forums.  Believe it or not there hasn't been any detrimental issues so far but I'm sure that it can be tweaked with LOOT to probably run even a lot better than it does now for me.

Also, is there a chance that doing this could actually have any kind of negative effect at all on my game?

I'm using NMM and I have never cleaned any of the original Bethesda UPDATE.ESM and the DLC's which I see is talked about everywhere as well.  This is my first Skyrim experience so I was unaware at the time about things like cleaning the game files and such, and at this time I am running over 230 mods.  :)  Can I also clean these files at any time, even during this long play through without damaging my current play through?  Thanks for any replies  :)

Considering what you have said about your game an how stable it is, I would say its not broken so do not do anything to it, keep playing as it stands, if you add more mods which make it unstable or things start going wrong then think about cleaning/running loot.

Though to answer the questions in theory yes you could run loot/clean the files at any time with nothing going wrong, in practice however you may well kill your game.

Thank you for a very quick reply.  It's getting to the point where anything that I may wish to do is a big question seeing as how far along I am, so I'm being very cautious.  My goal is to have a new video card by the end of June with 6GB of VRAM compared to my now minuscule little 512KB of VRAM hehe.  At which time I will finally redo the entire game with the mods that I now know which I wish to keep and which I don't intend to keep, which includes LOOT, TES5edit, etc...  :).  But until then I must be cautious :)

If you want to keep your existing game then DO NOT do anything, especially running LOOT.  If you rearrange your load order, you could break your saved games.

Now if you are going to start a new game, then go ahead and run LOOT.

Thanks all.  This is exactly what I wanted to know  :)
