About how to edit mod

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure it's possible.

I also think that it is not worth the effort.

If you don't want to use something from a mod, don't use it.

Especially with hair packs, the other hairstyles are not in the way.

if you not want some haircut, you can open the mod in the CK ((( look down for this, its not "open like any mod" ))) , checked the list of hair and delete the one you not want, you also need to check script for avoid the game to try load the haircut in menu when the haircut is missing (this can create an bug), script is ingame papyrus (mostly for the racemenu only). keep in mind that this is very delicate part of this modification, do mess with script and all the mod is gone...

its similar to delete some creatures from an creature mod or some armor from an armor mod, the only difference is the script used for the racemenu.

also, for modify this kind of script you need (this is highly recommended) LOAD the mod on the CK, that mean, not only check the esp/esm in CK, but also add the .bsa on the CK setting txt/.ini  file for allow the CK to load the models on it (its important for see wich model you actually look at. the model appear on the character editing window when you select the haircut . if you not active it with the .bsa loaded, you will not see the haircut in character creation window. this is similar to load the dlc content in the CK by adding it to sressource line in the CK setting .ini file

i prefer mention the same as "comrade lokomootje" to not use the mod or use it but dont care about what you not want. this kind of modification is delicate and not simple like for others mods. be sure to know what you are going to do, because you take risk to crash you game, destroy the mod and corrupt your save if you do something bad with racemenu.

and do NOT (never ever) try to simply delete the meshes and textures from the skyrim data folders relative to the mod, this will put your game in hell

edit: for armor pack its more simple, you can delete the armor you not want on the CK list for delete them from the game. you also need to check the list (if the armor pack is added to the list spawn for npc to wear armor) and modify it for kick out this armors.

and again, do not simply delete the meshes/textures from the skyrim data file of the mod, deleting them will not solve anything.. deleting texture will simply make the armor appear purple ingame, deleting the meshes will simply make the armor invisible ingame, deleting both will simply make armor invisible ingame but also make the game +30% chance to CTD due to bad load of meshes/textures required
