Lizzy Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 So many times in Outfit Studio, I'm trying to fit a modded outfit to the UUNP Special body type I use. I mean that I start a new project, select the femalebody_0.nif, and then the outfit's .nif file in the next screen. But a lot of the time, these modded outfits come with their own bodies. The UUNP body is invisible after I finish with Bodyslide, making all attempts useless (and I have to replace with the original mesh) And if I delete the body the outfit came with either in NifeSkope or Bodyslide, that results in an invisible character body, wearing clothes. I have successfully shaped packaged-with bodies to just below UUNP Special by reducing the meshes in Outfit Studio. But some bodies are too large. The boobs are huge, and the butt is too big. I'm not into that. For instance, I want to wear this Ghost in the Shell outfit! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72870/? But I can't shape the body part to fit UUNP. How do I replace that obnoxious "came with the outfit" body from the .nif file of the outfit, with the UUNP Special I'm using in-game? Or if I could just get rid of it, and the UUNP type was visible? I don't know how.

Then you can open bodyslide, apply your settings and build the outfit like you did the body. If you prefer to adjust the outfit and export it again, you'll want to delete the base shape the outfit comes with like you were, but select Export with reference so that it includes the UUNP reference you're using. Alternatively, you could also copy and paste the body in Nifskope, the same as you deleted the other one.
Lizzy Posted April 23, 2016 Author Posted April 23, 2016 (Empty quote just for notifications) Apply and adjust the sliders and do a full bodyslide conversion?? I don't know how.. So if I export with reference instead but delete that packaged-with body, it will come with the UUNP 'femalebody_0.nif' I included? I'll try that next. I just tried Block-Copy on femalebody_0.nif and Block-Paste on the 'motoko suitv2.nif' then tried "save as". It told me "link points to wrong block type".
myuhinny Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 If you export with reference the body you used when you did the new project selection will be in the exported nif if you export only then the nif will be empty except for the outfit and there will be no body in it. When you copy and paste are you right clicking the body and going block - copy branch then load other nif then right click scene root and going to paste branch?
Lizzy Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 Exporting with reference did the trick! Thanks to Levionte, and you for the advice NifSkope: When I copied and pasted, I right-clicked the whole tree and selected copy branch. I did the same for the tree of the outfit. That.. the program didn't like. So I gave up! Instead, the shrink tool in Outfit Studio. Which is a HUGE pain in the butt when the outfit has Goodyear Blimp sized boobs and ass! I wasn't able to resize perfectly, and the boobs look particularly terrible. Slightly passable in game. I hate cartoonishly warped characters
myuhinny Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Your welcome glad it worked for you. By whole whole tree do you mean the scene root? If yes then that would cause problems with any tool as you can't have 2 scene roots in a nif (you can if you are not trying to run it through any tool as they will crash as I have done it before for a oblivion nif but it never worked right and only showed the one scene root). If you are right clicking the stuff on the left side I find it better to right click the actual outfit piece or whatever you are copying in the right screen then hit load and select the nif that I'm pasting into and load it and go to scene root in the left side and right click it and go to block - paste branch watch for any errors if a error pops up you need to look at it and see what kind of error it is. Some things you do in the left side can cause errors like if you right click a items main line and go to block - remove branch it can cause errors to pop up because it doesn't delete everything when done that way instead of clicking the actual piece. 2 Main errors that are seen when pasting are ninode errors meaning the piece you are pasting into has a node that what your pasting in doesn't and it'll prevent you from doing it the 2nd one is a recursive error but it is easy to fix by right clicking it again and go to block - copy branch then block - right click it again and do delete branch then right click scene root once again and block - paste branch and the error will be gone. One other error you might get is if the both don't have the same scene root name they both have to have the same name or it will not work. So if I want this necklace in a new nif I would right click it which will highlight it and bring up the select screen and go to block - copy branch then click load and load the other nif then go to scene root in the left list at the top andright click it and go to block - paste branch then save as to overwrite the nif.
Lizzy Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 That all seems too complicated when I was able to export with reference in Outfit Studio o_o; I have some problems though. First is, I don't know how to "HDT" outfits. This results in boobs and butt clipping through. Because I brought my UUNP Special body through Outfit Studio with the outfit meshes, one by one. The sleeves also! Because that mod's weight set is at max, the arms are way out to the side. I tried scaling them over, and resulted in jagged vertices. I failed pretty hard on the boobs shrinking too. And I spent hours doing this stuff Examples:
myuhinny Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 To add HDT to a outfit select start new project then select Unified UNP HDT hit next then select your outfit. Hold down CTRL and select each item and your body body in the nif next switch to the bone node tab and highlight all or the ones you want to add and go to shape - then select either copy bone weights (which will copy all bone nodes even the ones that are not selected) or use copy selected weights (which will only copy the nodes you have selected) then hit shape again and go to transfer selected weights. Then export there is no reason to export with reference as there should already be a body in it. Another way would be to take note on where the bad spots are and then load them into outfit studio and increase the mesh for those spots to remove the clipping.
