NNS10 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I've seen screenshots of characters with specialized custom body and head textures (e.g. Abyssal Dremora or Zombie texture) that presumably are specific to the player character (would be odd if everyone looked like that). Anyone know how these people do it? I use Ishara's Custom Player Body, but it doesn't support PC-specific head textures. I've seen some other mods with head texture support, but I think those essentially involved setting up custom races. And I would think there's another way to do it, as the Abyssal Dremora textures are available both as standalone textures as well as a standalone race. The standalone textures include head textures, and since they're offered separately from the race, I'm assuming there's a way to use them without setting up a custom race. Any one know how Vivi or Eiries do it?

idle Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Do you use racemenu? If so, you can change the color, saturation and some other settings of the skin tone in it. That and the right tintmask should give you the look you want.

Eiries also uses custom races. My concern is for compatibility, such as skeletons, FNIS, PCEA, compatibility of custom hairs on custom races, and also mods that affect rates (such as disparity and imperious races). It just seems like a lot of work to maintain compatibility with a custom race. How has your experience been? I also recently looked at BodyChange - A Multi-Bodyshape System again and realized the text suggests it supports custom head and body textures. It probably won't be until my next character that I get to test this out, but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has used that mod in the past and getting confirmation on whether it supports PC-specific head textures without getting into custom races.

If you're using it, make sure that the textures are exactly the same as the ones used by the NPCs, except for your own alterations such as tattoos or scars. In the case of body mods, should be two versions of, say, SG Textures for both UNP and CBBE. Otherwise, you'll have to use Custom Races for which to install your own choice of textures and body part meshes, including head meshes.

Guest endgameaddiction Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Custom Races is nice and all but lacks sliders and I only see it has the vanilla basic sliders for morphing.
