missing heimsker

title pretty much says it. everything was going fine. started a new game with a custom race. got to whiterun and no heimsker outside preaching which is where he should be. no. he was hiding in his house. i know because i picked the lock, went inside and got told "you're not supposed to be here." i could say the same for him. so i deleted the custom race mod. started a new game and have the same problem. deleted several other mods that were recently installed in the last month to no avail. everytime a new game is started i get the same problem. i really don't want to have to uninstal/reinstall to correct this problem. that is a real pain. help?!

Some mods do change him and place him at different places. I did find him in jail one time.

Heimskr works from 5AM to 8PM. He then sleeps for like 4 hours in his home until midnight. Are you sure you're looking for him at the right time of day?

yes. waiting doesn't help. leaving the cell and returning doesn't help. he just stays locked up in his house regardless of time of day.

Have you finished the Civil War? A user on the nexus reported the mod "Civil War Repairs" caused Heimsker to be trapped in his house.

 

Try using this console command: 0001A682. moveto player

 

That should get him out of his house. I don't know if that will solve all of the issues though. You probably will have to uninstall the mod. It's for the better I suppose, as it is outdated (last updated in 2012) and it has quite a few ITM's and deleted references.

 

Another user on the mod page pointed out that you can have a cleaned up Whiterun by making a batch file with the following:

"100D98".disable
"101FD2".enable
"101FDD".disable

haven't started the civil war yet. just started the game with this glitch. i'll keep that console command in mind for my next playthrough because i've already killed him. i figured if he wasn't going to come out and do his thing then he might as well have a good reason. Lol

I actually feel the same. Heimskr is an okay guy. Confessor Cromwell was crazy, and his crazy talk always annoyed me. He was always the first to go whenever I saved the game before massacring Megaton while bored.

how do i perform said search exactly? all i know about TES5edit is how to clean files via Gopher's tutorial on youtube.

Open TES5Edit, expand the Skyrim.esm tree and then expand None Playable Characters and look for heimsker. Highlight him and in the right panel you'll see a bunch of stuff highlighted in green and red. The red means it's being overwritten from a previous mod or original game. They are in columns and on the top of the right panel it will specify each by which mod is doing the overwriting from the original game.

so i found a suspected mod that was editing heimskr. deleted said mod and deleted heimskr in the process. looks like i'll have to start another new game to see if he comes back.

I have no clue how or why recycleactor spawned a naked Heimskr. It's supposed to reset a characters AI. Really strange.
