Win10 <3 CTD?

hello at first,
 
when i`m loading game on Win10, there`s some CTDs but on Win7 with same load order and settings was no CTD on loading at all, so what makes Skyrim instable on Win10?
tried to set compatibility mode of all skyrim exe to Win7 but nothing happened... 
 
P.S after one CTD game loads perfectly fine or after two
So what can i do to prevent CTD, i`d blame PC but if on Win7 was all right?

I'm actually receiving MUCH better peformance and stability on Win 10, so your issue is probably localized.

same here.. win 7 = 1.59c, win10 1.61b, no issues and im using same mods on both + a few more on win10

from what I've read miaslair aka sex slaves isn't that heavily scripted.

funniest stuff is that my VRAM is GDDR 3 -> 512 MB  

and, i`v download pack that contained this all mods and i added some more and can you suggest which texture mod can i disable ?

yea, i`m using SKSE patch. but those mods: Aroused, SIC (SIC DLC2), CreatureFramework is very required is not it? since somehow it sounds like i`v met this requirements in some mod

This probably doesn't apply to you but I thought I throw it out there.  I found "focus stealing" to be a bigger issue in Win10 than Win7 because how the notification system was changed in Win8/10.  Skyrim with heavilly scripted mods in full screen mode tend not to do well when someone else wants Window's focus.  I thought it was my Skyrim setup after I upgraded but when my other games were alt-tab like mad I spent days hunting down programs that were the culprit and now my Skyrim is about as "stable" as before.

well i have not that much programs, using just: Groove, Maps, Weather and that`s all, even uninstalled apps which i could to... 

 

overall yea i know that my PC can`t process that much and sometime CTD is OK but difference between 7 and 10 was slight but on Skyrim only

Dont get me wrong its not like you cant play that way, but as said if you have ctd's somewhere in the future or allready expierience them rnd in the game you allready know where to look.

Try setting the game to run in the compatibility mode for Win 7 along with the SKSE launcher. I was having issues and it help quite a bit with them.

Windows 10 will only allow 4GB of TOTAL RAM when running DX9 applications (such as Skyrim). Simple as that.

 

So, that 4GB video card and 32GB of RAM means nothing--Windows 10 will only use 2GB of VRAM and 2 GB of system RAM. That being said, what you are experiencing is simply running out of RAM, even though you may have plenty installed.

 

Sad, but true. Windows 10 is the worst thing to ever happen to Skyim. Unfortunately, Micro$oft has made it near impossible to go back to Windows 7 once a computer has been upgraded to Windows 10 (Windows Update will refuse to function). Planned obsolescence at it's finest!

 

If you have a Win7 Installed and like to play Skyrim, NEVER upgrade your OS

 

( I turned off Windows Update for this reason, out of fear that M$ will push out a similar "update" for Win7).

On my main PC, the one I use for pretty much everything including the CK, it upgraded to Win 10 without asking me and even then it was a pretty half assed job of it. I came into my office at home and my PC said that it had upgraded it but it had issues configuring things and took forever, the other 2 computers I have updated went smoothly. I was still researching a few things for this PC since I run dual video cards and was unsure of AMD's drivers and how well they would work.

microsoft has turned windows 10 into a update.  and If you have all updates set to auto in your machine you will now get upgraded to windows 10.  you have to set the update manager to ask you before updating so you can say no to windows 10.

I don't think DX9's 4GB cap means 2GB of VRAM and 2GB of system RAM.  Since no DX9 exclusive games have 64bit versions so giving DX9 access to more than 4GB is probably not much use.  For Skyrim the cap is more like 4GB "app" memory and 4GB video memory to match.

 

ENB magic somehow blurs the line between system and video memory but it cannot alter the 32bit reality.

That is an old post from back when Boris was trying to figure out the problem, and thought the fault lay with Nvidia drivers. He has since discovered that the problem is with Windows 10 specifically. Read through the posts for the ENBoost CTD Fix page at the Nexus and you'll several references to it.
